Can I use nexus 4 I bought here in US on a 220 volt??? Is it advisable to?

It says on the travel adapter100-240volt 50/60hz. I know it's within the range but is our advisable to use an adapter to preserve more the battery life.

Cause I remember using my laptop I bought here in the us on a 220 volt while attending college outside u.s, and I notice that it seems make my battery life lessen and charge poorly compare when I used it here. How the same principle is not applicable to nexus 4.

I I'm planning to give it as a gift for someone who lives outside the United states...

Absolutely.. All modern chargers are designed to run at voltages between 100-240 V with a similar current output. So you can actually use them anywhere in the world. Only worry would be the plug type for which you can use readily available adapters..

yea, and remember it's just the device itself. all the charger really is is a glorfied USB port that provides power.

Nice!!! Thanks for the quick response! My brother will be delighted. Phew. :)
