Hi,

I have a problem, and perhaps someone around can help me..

My sister that lives in US bought me nexus 4 about half a year ago, and I love it a lot.
Recently I decided to switch to new cellular provider, and upon submitting my request at their offices they requested my N4 receipt. I printed 'em the email I got from google, the one with the subject "Your Google Play Order Receipt from Jan 29, 2013", but was told that this is not good enough, and I need some receipt that would identify my phone.

I don't have anything like that. Is there a way to get anything like that from google ? please help.

thanks

Is it okay if I inquire as to what country you live in? I am wondering why you should have to do any of this; the last time I was in Italy and wanted a local SIM card (I live in the US), I simply went to a TIM store, purchased a SIM card and plan, plugged it in and was online within 15 minutes. No one asked for my phone's purchase receipt or, for that matter, anything else (other than my passport/identity card which is a requirement in Italy).

So far I used the N4 with no problems. The thing is I'm signing up for a contract that's offered by family member's work place, so it's only for family members, and I guess they do this to avoid fraud..

Sounds like they want the shipping manifest/receipt that came in the original shipment.

You'd have to contact Google Play to get a copy, but if it was shipped to your sister under her name you would be out of luck for getting on the plan.

Any carrier who won't sell a prepaid SIM card for cash without "Ihre Papiere bitte" doesn't want my business.

It's not for prepaid - it's to prove the phone's owner is the same as a relative applying to get on a discounted plan sponsored by an employer.

Easiest way is to ask Google play forbtje receipt or use your sisters cc history

- Android Central App. Remember courage is contagious.

His sister isn't a relative?

You didn't mention his relations or what he was even attempting in the post of yours I replied to...

You wrote: "Any carrier who won't sell a prepaid SIM card for cash without "Ihre Papiere bitte" doesn't want my business." That has nothing to do with what the issue is and I merely pointed out what the true problem is. It's not that some shady company doesn't want his money for a prepaid SIM...

So how can you then post: "His sister isn't a relative?" and include a quote of my post???

Are you trying to claim that your original post in this thread was on point, when it wasn't even close???

Your context is askew and you statements in this thread have no logical progression. Once again you've missed the point.

Yes his sister is obviously a relative. He's the one trying to get on the plan... Chances are when he shows up at the carrier shop he doesn't look like a "Sally" and his ID doesn't say his name is "Sally". "Sally" is in another country, not physically there. "Sally" can't walk into the carrier shop with an original receipt in her name, get the phone on the plan and then hand it to the OP to use.

Ask your site to log into her account and view her last order a. Through here you can also printer another receipt. This one normally looks more official.
