Nexus 4 - T-Mobile WiFi calling

thankyou Cloverstatic :)

so here is the Phone Number step
  1. go to IPKall
  2. put in your getonsip information sip address and create a new account. the number is sent to you within seconds.
  3. put that in gvoice and it calls you to verify.
  4. type in the digits and done.

Legionnaire try viewing the more advanced options.. and make sure you put in your authentication user name which is 'getonsip_[username]' and domain(server) as getonsip.com

this solution worked perfect me ! screw TMobiles Wifi Calling .... "sorry sir yadda yadda"

mind you i havent yet tested quality. just receiving calls. which works :)

I did all of the above but clearly I'm missing a step. How do you force calls to forward to your google voice number only when you are unreachable?

I found some documentation on the T-Mobile site to set this up but it does not work on my pre-paid plan. Are there any other options?

Here is what I did. I was worried that I would miss a call at home, if I was in an area of my home with zero bars on the phone. I went to Google Voice and set up Voicemail on Google Voice to answer my T Mobile number. I then set the Google voicemail so that it sends a visual text email to me, with the voicemail transcribed to text so I can read it immediately. . This way I don't have to pay for a text message, and within a minute of the incoming call, I get the email at my home via my Wifi. Then I can call the person back. Works like a charm.

Worth a try with my T-Mobile non-reception. But, how do you get your carrier-assigned cell # calls (after making the number a contact in Gmail) to ring your Google Voice #, as described by Cloverstatic? here...

here is what I did for my Nexus 4. We have NO, NADA, ZIP cell service inside our home. All carriers. So I went here https://www.getonsip.com/ and got a sip. Then I put that info in my nexus 4 under internet calling and set it to receive calls. Then I went online signed up for google voice with my new sip number being the "forward to" option. Then all the following is from within gmail...... I called my cell phone from my gmail phone chat..(had to download a plug in first) of course there was no answer because I am home and have no cell service Ha. So I ended call, went to call history, made my cell number a contact and set gmail to forward any calls from the contact to my (sip remember) number. So now when I am home with no service, and someone calls my cell, it goes to my google, which goes to my sip, which then uses my wi fi to go to my cell and voila! it rings! No one has to know other numbers... just my cell. :-)

So... does this provide you with 'free' LD calling even in foreign countries too (as long as you have WiFi data access)?

Thanks so much! Been wondering if I Could do something like this, even if it won't give me free international roaming (as long as I have WiFi)...

Yes it works....you just type **62*sipnumberfromipkall.com# then press call from your phone. After that, all of your incoming call that goes to your phone while you have no signal will be rerouted to your sip call via wifi....voila....
