Nexus 4 will not boot

[Android Central Question]

I renewed the battery, hoping this would rectify the problem unfortunately not.
I got into the mode which required power buttons/volume buttons to be pressed.I was then at a loss where to go from there.
As you can tell from my question, I'm not much of a tech so any help would be very much appreciated.

You’re possibly referring to Recovery. Tell us what you see on your screen and we’ll guide you from there.
