Nexus 5 and T-Mobile

I currently own the nexus 5 and use it on att but want to make the switch to T-Mobile for some of that unlimited goodness and lower bill. But att service has been good and fast. I spend most my time in las Vegas and Tempe AZ. So if anyone uses T-Mobile in these two areas please let me know how the service is? I did a lot of research online seems good. But how is it out side and indoors?

I know you are looking for those two areas and I cannot help there as I am in Milwaukee/Chicago. BUT I also just made the switch for the same reasons of unlimited goodness and saving over $20 a month on my bill. As for the switch I couldn't be happier. I also did a lot of research online for my area and so far so good. From what I have heard if you are in big cities you should be good and if you road trip or hang out a lot in the "middle of nowhere" you'll have more issues than you would with AT&T.

T-Mobile contracts are 30 days and out. Trying the $40 plan for a month would be the best way to test it. If you don't like it, go back to AT&T or a MVNO of AT&T. Here's a list for you:

Sensorly.com is a decent site, but I find that the information it gives for my area (Silicon Valley) is limited to main streets, since the data is primarily collected from phones that are sending data while people are driving. Rootmetrics might give better info, or at least complement Sensorly.

I'd say the $30/month plan would be the best way to try it out but that's just me (don't actually make all that many phone calls and have a separate home phone with unlimited minutes).

Just get a tmo sim card, sign up for the $30 plan and try it out. If it doesn't work well for the area/buildings you're in, put your old sim card back in. That's the beauty of having an unlocked phone...it's cheap and easy to try out other carriers.

Just buy a tmobike pre paid Sim and see if the coverage is good that's what I did

That's a good idea, but since T-Mobile doesn't have any contracts, you don't even need the prepaid/pay-as-you-go plan--you could start one of their standard plans, and if you don't like it, just cancel without any penalty.

I live in Vegas. I have had a Nokia N95 and N97 on at&t, Galaxy Nexus on Verizon and now a Nexus 5 on T-Mobile. Hands down T-Mobile gives me the fastest LTE and best coverage where I live out by Red Rock Canyon. There are only a few spots deep in the recesses of a few casinos, where it gets spotty.
