Nexus 5 brightness throttling?

Hey all, just wanted to know (as a new nexus 5 owner) does your brightness throttle as the phone gets hotter with use? I am finding that when using the phone enough for it to heat up a bit, the screen will go from full brightness to a bit dimmer automatically for about a minute and then back up to full brightness. I have auto brightness turned off as well. This happens a lot.

I've never noticed any heat from my N5. I guess I don't put enough stress on it... so I don't know about any throttling.

The auto-brightness seems to work pretty well so I enable it but I wish it would dim down even farther when I'm in a dark room.

I've noticed my brightness will go to full whack every now and then for no apparent reason. Haven't yet noticed why.
