Hi all,

My nexus 5 served me well. Recently the battery was dying, it was changed and all for good. Now my SIM card is getting unrecognized at random. First it was a few times a week. Now it's a few times a day, even during phone calls.

My goal was originally to change for a Pixel XL, but I waited too long and now I'm waiting for Pixel XL 2 instead. Note: I only had Nexus, ever (N1, NS, GN, N5 + N10 + NP).

I'm beginning to think that I won't make it to September/October when the XL 2 will be launched.

So what would you do? (And of course, why).

A) Buy a LG G6 now
B) Buy a LG V30 asap
C) Buy a XL now
D) Tought it up and buy a XL 2 later

The Nexus 5 is a superb phone - I have one - and definitely worth fixing. Perhaps the SIM card needs cleaning or replacing, or the SIM reader needs attention?

Great alternative! I've tried to remove and replace the SIM card. It looked clean but I think I'll alcohol-clean that s*cker just to make sure. If it doesn't work, I'll go see someone who can revamp the reader.

Thanks!
