I am using the nexus branded wireless charger and currently it shows my phone temperature at 109 degrees and it's just charging

Ya but the phone shouldn't be 109 just charging...

Charging is when it'll be the hottest. Playing high end games shouldn't heat it up too much
109? isn't that high

My gs4 would be around the mid 90's just simply charging in comparison

That is a GS4, this is a Nexus 5....

Phones are all going to have slightly different temps when charging, playing games, blah blah blah. Depends on the materials used in the case, venting, etc. I wouldn't be to worried.

Well he is also using the wireless charger, so that probably plays into the temp. If your batt temp goes above 120? F the heat will start to damage the battery

This is all based off just charging and 109 sounds a bit to much for simply charging ...

you think that's hot? try using the lumia 920's navigation while it's charging. it got so hot one time, the screen popped out of the poly-carbonate shell. no damage was done, i just popped it back in.

Oh I wasn't using my phone at all and felt it was pretty hot after 20 mins ...
