Nexus 5 is better than the iPhone.

The thing I don't really understand is why there should be such a difference in camera quality in today's top phones. They should all be as good as the best phone cameras and they're not. Why? Why is the iPhone's camera noticably better? Samsung, LG, HTC, and Moto don't have access to the same camera technology? Is there the same amount of variance in DSLRs?

1) It is not necessarily better. It is better in some ways, worse in others. The Nexus 4 took way better macro shots than the iPhones for example. So did my HTC Rezound. The only camera that is clearly the best IMO is the Lumia 1020...all the others are good in some ways and less good in others.

2) I think the differences are because that is the place vendors are most likely to make compromises because of cost...people tend to care about displays and CPU and storage a lot more than cameras IMO.

Yep, that is where the iPhone really shines. The S3 and S4 also take fast pictures. The Nexus 5 and the nexus 4 both have bad shutter lag and are slow to take pictures. With the nexus 4 you need a steady hand to take good pictures. OIS helps a lot with that on the 5.

The iPhone's dual flash makes flash pictures look better too.

Sigh that's because they use the highest quality Sony sensors but the n5 is more of a budget device more went into under the hood and display than cameras I personally hate taking pictures of any kind I only take a pic when I have to

I know, and I highly doubt that whatever carrier you're talking about has LTE speeds higher than SKT's LTE-A speeds
SK is faster then us, Only one carrier used the 150/75 stream and that was possibly only a test to see if they could. They are likely to reduce it to the 100/50 stream in the area they tested it.

I use many apps to enhance the functionality of phones, so the out-of-the-box review state doesn't matter as much to me.

My feelings exactly... It even annoys me when I see a comparison between an iPhone and a galaxy phone... It's like it's not fair, touchwiz is crap, but one can easily make the phone twice as good changing a few things.

That's the stream they're going to use but you won't get speeds anywhere near that

Have fun with your iPhone 5S while I text my friend and watch YouTube at the same time.

As for the S4:

Even with all this aside, the iPhone has never been recognized as the best camera even by Apple people. That honor goes to the Nokia Lumia 1020 camera.

The 1020 doesn't count. The iPhone offers the best camera in any smartphone for the majority of users. Period.

Nope. There aren't many because people just don't see the point of upgrading every year so and with only 4 mill of a population, we don'y have many tech heads:P
Lucky, the majority of people here aren't tech heads either but they're always wanting to upgrade because it's "cool" to have the latest and greatest. Luckily I'm on T-Mobile so there aren't as many people congesting the network and I can get 25-30 MBPS download. That's faster than AT&T and VZW, at least where I live :p

LTE speeds on Verizon were insane last year when it first arrived in my area. Now, it's still 30-40 mbps at night, but during the day it's more like 15-20 pretty consistently. It's still fast enough that pages load pretty much instantly, but I'd love to see that number come back with "150" sometime... highest I ever saw was the 1st night before I even knew we were getting it (it was just suddenty on).

Hmm, haven't tried mine at night but that's true. Even when I only had 4G and the download was around 7-10 I could still load pages easily and they didn't take too long to load :)
If Vodafone is getting close to 100 down there must be VERY little people using the network.
