Nexus 5 launcher for moto g (apk)

Hey all,

Just wanted to put out that the latest version of GEL (the Nexus 5 launcher) is out and runs GREAT on the moto g. I have noticed even smoother performance on my little phone, no lag whatsoever.

Here is the link to the apk. Pulled from xda forums. All credit to them.

(Just install as a normal app. Make sure your Google search is updated as well)

Notable improvements:
-Google now responds to your voice on any home screen. No need to open it up.
-App drawer is now semitransparent
-the "fade" on the home buttons and notification bar is now system wide on system apps.

For Moto G, temporarily still 4.3 in Europe & world and 4.4 in US.

Not 100% sure but I think you can add it. It's called the Google Experience Launcher and should be in the playstore (or in ROMs).

Nope. you wont get Nexus 5 launcher even with KitKat update.. its not available on playstore and the only way to get it is to side load the apk.

heck my Nexus 4 didnt even get that launcher

The launcher just adds more areas that are transparent, like the multitasking window and app drawer, etc.

You can always drag an icon to the edge of the screen and it will add a new one

To get the transparent status bar you need to be root user and enable transparency on gravity box.
