Nexus 5..... LG?

This. I've always been asking for a Padfone Nexus.

I just want to see each company get shot of making a nexus phone. I don't like same company getting to make nexus phone twice in a row. I rather have rotate to each company every year for variety otherwise just stick with one company but I believe that defeats the purposes of nexus phone being a developer phone.

The way these things work in my experience is that the company puts out the specs for the product they want built and the companies bit on it. Usually the cheapest overall deal wins.

A company can choose to not bid on it or bid high if they do not want it. Google chooses the company, but choosing someone that does not bid the lowest can cause a slew of compliance issues if it cannot be justified in some way.

In other words whatever manufacturer can make the nexus the way Google wants it the cheapest will more than likely get it. Compliance Laws make it less of a choice than you might think.

Information on how nexus program function is sparse. I personally only knew that it was a bidding system but not how it works. Do you have any links or sources that follow your reason? I would like to know because always been so curious how manufacture is chosen to manufacture the next nexus device.

All this is just from my experience with corporate business. I have not idea how much this does or does not apply to the nexus program.

Agree with all but the micro SD card. Not only will it never happen, but they should modify Android to prevent their use. Right now they only exclude support. What's the card for if you have sufficient internal storage and the cloud for backup? We should demand an end to removable storage and inclusion of 256 or 512gb devices.

I would love to have a phone with 128GB of storage but we will never see it happen, at least not for several more years or longer. The reason is simple, the carriers are addicted to gouging us for bandwidth and they want us using their data so they can charge us more, more, more.

Samsung and LG seem to be the only ones interested in microSD anymore HTC I suspect will go away from it and push the 32/64GB internal storage game, but they need to up that storage to 96/128GB to be relevant.

Cloud storage and data rates make the need for internal/external storage a much needed item. Memory is cheap certainly cheap enough that we should no longer be relegated to 16GB of space before OS and formatting.

I don't think we will ever see a microSD in a Nexus device since Google seems to be going that route. But a Phablet should be something we get.

Perhaps Google can get another quorum going with the carriers and OEM's and have them make more promises that are BS and will never be kept.

With an otg cable and flash drive or wireless external drives, there are still other external options while we're waiting for internal storage to make it into new devices.
