Hey guys, So I've had my Nexus 5 for about 2 weeks. It's a good phone but there seems to be alot of small issues with it! (Bluetooth for me, and camera)

My problem now, Is that I have a pair of Wireless Beats headphones. When I scan for Bluetooth devices on my N5 It can't find my headset. I used my Ipad to search for the headset and that picked it up fine. I could even pick up my Ipad Bluetooth using my N5..
(Also note; I have never connected my headset to N5 before)

What I have tried to fix the problem.
-Reset Bluetooth settings
-Factory restore headset
-Connected headset to another device perfectly
-Changed the N5 Bluetooth name
-Reboot on both devices
-Changed WiFi off
-Changed WiFi frequency
-Tried various "Bluetooth Routing" apps

Any help would be appreciated :)
Thank you.

Since you didn't mention it, I have to ask: did you put the headset into "pairing mode" prior to asking the Nexus 5 to search for Bluetooth devices?

For Beats Wireless, "Turn off the headphones and hold the multifunction button above the b button for 5 seconds."

For Beats Studio Wireless, "To manually initiate pairing mode, press and hold the b button for 2 seconds."

I did pair the devices, didn't think I would have had to state that..

I still require help, if anyone can offer any suggestions.
Thanks

Well, there is no reason you should be having this problem so either you are doing something wrong at you have screwed up the N5's Bluetooth system.

Bluetooth routing apps? Why?

You "did pair the devices" - when? I don't know about Beats devices but I do know of others that can only remember one pairing at a time. So if you successfully pair with your phone and then pair with a tablet, the original pairing is lost and must be repeated.

FWIW, my Nexus 5's Bluetooth works just fine with my wireless ear buds, car audio, my wife's Nexus 4, and a few other devices.

I mean I had each device searching for one another but they didn't actually connect (N5 won't see Beats headphones still)

All settings on the N5 are default, same with the headphones.

Any luck on this? I ask because I could not pair my Plantronics M50 headset with my Tracfone Samsung. I gave up on it.

I bought the phone four months ago, and could not get the M50 to function with it. I thought I had "tried everything", until today - I discovered that if the M50 won't pair, one must hold down the call button for five seconds or so until the pilot light flashes blue and red. I had no idea... now it works like a dream.

As someone once said, "When in doubt, read the instructions."

I have a pair of $20 wireless headphones that pair fine with my Nexus 5.

Had no problem pairing with any BT devices with my N5. So, op probably just need RTFM. Most headsets can only pair to one device. So, if you already connected to one, and want to pair with another, you need to put the headset into pairing mode to force it to forget the old connection. Some old BT headset I had in the past will automatically enter pairing mode when it can't connect to anything. But those are rare.

Please help same issue here... however I think the mistake I probably commited was to ask my cousin to pair the headset to his device (beats wireless to iphone 5 s) before sending it to me just to chk the sound quality etc... and now I cant connect on my note 3... note 3 doesnt even display it in 'search/ scan'.

I havent even used them onse I hv an I phone 5 and 4s as well no luck on either... still havent tried on ipad but I doubt if it would work on that either... so any idea how to say factory reset it or force it into the pair mode..?

I had the same problem with my bluetooth headset (model SX-910A). My headset was paired to my laptop computer and I wanted to pair it to my Nexus 5 phone.
I could not see my headset on the Nexus 5 device list. The problem was that the headset was not in pairing mode. So, it was solved by pressing the headset ON-OFF button for approximately 10 seconds until it entered pairing mode.

Hope that helps

My LG Electronics Tone+ HBS-730 Bluetooth Headset works great both for music and for phone calls.

I had same problem. Just managed to solve it.

Just long press the Bluetooth device (like for 10 sec) to turn it to pairing mode.

Pressing power for 10 seconds on device, then rerunning pairing mode making sure no other devices were in the vicinity fixed it for me. Thanks VitalHB!
