nexus 5 notifications.

Hi guys,
Have just changed over from iPhone to a Nexus 5 and I have a quick question about the notification drop down.
When I get a notification, email, sms etc....and I pull down the notification bar, the full body of the email or text is displayed.
I know on iOS you could disable these details from showing and only have the notification displaying the senders name.
Is there a way I can disable this at all?

I use Textra and you can disable all kinds of things from showing in the status bar or waking up the screen.

Disable the message
Disable the sender name
Disable noises
Disable vibrations etc.

Anything you want.

You can even set it to have a little LED flash notification (colour can be set to specific people) and other than that total silence.

Don't worry, your wife will never find out about your girlfriend.

that's one of my favorite features is that my whole email is shown. I also like how I can delete and reply right from the notification bar.

Next time when you get one, tap and hold the notification for a second until it vibrates, then pull it up. Any time you get a notification for e-mail, you can expand it or make it smaller again.

I think the OP wants to turn off message preview which can be found under settings for the email account.l

Don't see any such setting under gmail or email, nor in the android settings.
