AC Question

Hi guys I recently got a Nexus 5 from a friend of mine as my G3 had just died on me. The phone runs superb and honestly it's flawless as far as I can tell. The only issue is that I believe it was rooted. Whenever I try to update the Android OS to 5.0.1 (which is currently at 4.4.4 as I'm typing this) the phone boots back up it seems as though it installs fine, however about a quarter of the way through the little droid falls over and "Error!" comes up

I've tried factory reseting the phone, and "No Command" comes up when I try the recovery options in the firmware. I've never messed with rooting phones before, so I was curious would I have to un-root the phone? Or would there be something else I could do?

Apologies if this is barely descriptive or is a stupid question, I've searched all over google and there's no real answers. Or perhaps I'm asking the wrong question.

Thanks in advance :)

Never attempt an OTA update on a rooted, device as it is likely to brick it. You should flash stock if you want to update OTA. There's a good set of tools here that will allow you to do whatever you need Home
