Nexus 5: Problems & Issues

I've not any issues. As I've become more familiar with the Nexus 5 ...... the more I realize what all the "hype" about this phone is about. My opinion is ..... the Nexus 5 isn't the best phone at any one aspect (except updates) but it is the only phone I've experienced where the "sum is greater than it's parts". The Nexus has, as a whole, has no more issues than many manufacturers. Most issues with the N5 are software issues .... but it's because it's at the "bleeding" edge. I love it!!!! If i were to label the Nexus phone ....... it's an enthusiast's device. For those users who want "to go where now one has gone before"! LOL

I bought this nexus 5 off a guy, everything was working perfectly. LTE was up to speed. A couple days later he reported it stolen so the imei went bad and I couldn't use it. I got the imei repaired but I could only use 2g after that. If I switch it to lte the service cuts off completely. Is there anything I could be able to do to fix that? Any advice would be appreciated. Please help.

How do you know that the seller reported it stolen? If there's a police report, you might be able to track him down that way. Or if he reported it as stolen to the wireless provider, you could try talking to them. Do you still have any contact information for the seller?

Re: Nexus 5 Problems and Issues list.

I ordered a Nexus 5 32gb from Google Play and it came in with a serious amount of light bleed on the bottom of the screen. I did a replacement and just got the replacement device in today. When starting it up, I noticed that the vibration was considerably louder and stronger than the first one, as the first one feels more subdued. You can even notice when pressing the on-screen buttons. Is this something that I should worry about and try for another replacement? It feels like there's something wrong with it, but I don't know if it's just my OCD kicking in. Thanks.

A lot of phones have initial problems, but considering how long they have to make it right, the Nexus5 shouldn't be one of them. Very poor quality control. C'mon "mrsmumbles", bring it on. HaHa.:p

At your service! :D

The strength of the vibration could be adjustable, and the sound effects certainly are. Anyway, there's nothing wrong with it. The stronger it is the more it fulfills its function. :p

I talked to Google and I'm going to keep it. They probably would have done an RMA if I pushed it. But maybe it will be easier to feel. And if it breaks, I'll get it replaced.

Definitely easier to feel if in a pocket. :) I hope you enjoy the phone! Any problems or questions, just ask.

My point is that you shouldn't have to go through all that, with a "quality" device. I have some more ammo now, as my son-in-law bought the T-Mobile Nexus5(after i told him that it was a great phone), and he had to return it to T-Mobile because the power button(the one on the top) FELL OFF. Once again, quality control was lacking. Hey, i have a Whirlpool refrigerator, maybe they'll make the Nexus6? HaHaHa.:p

There isn't a power button on the top of the Nexus 5. All the North American Nexus 5's are the same, there's no difference per carrier.

My bad. I've had the M8 on my mind lately. He said power button, and i guess it's on the side. However, the point is that it fell off, period. In my mind, that's something that should never happen. It may have a great OS, i'm not arguing about that, but it's put together like a piece of junk.:p

No. He only had the phone for a week. He packed it in a ziploc bag, brought it back to T-Mobile, and they gave him a new one. It's been about two weeks now, and so far so good. I just feel bad because i recommend the N5 to him. Should have told him to get the M8.:p

The only issue I've had with mine since release day has been that my LED notifications don't work. Never have since the second I opened the box. Not while charging, not when I get something sent to me. Randomly it'll go off but it isn't as its supposed to be.

Had a HUGE data problem this past week...
Halfway through my cycle it said I had used 2.1 gb of mobile data and 10gb of wifi...
Highest offending apps on wifi are youtube and chrome.. Next was under 1 gb and got lower down the list.. It DID NOT add up tp 10gb. The wireless data also did not add up to 2.1..

I have Mobile Data turned off now until May 16th so I can't tell if it is better or not, but I have 570 mb on wifi From May 2 until today.

What exactly did you say?

I have a similar problem, and the noise it makes is really getting on my nerves. Only problem is I went and bought my phone from CPW, so I don't know how easy it will be to get a replacement
