Nexus 5: Problems & Issues

Re: Nexus 5 Problems and Issues list.

Hey B. Diddy Thanks for responding :) I fixed it by Forgetting the WIFI connection rebooting then reconnecting.

Re: Nexus 5 Problems and Issues list.

Well, i've got the bootloader unlocked on my N5, but can't flash the right command from the terminal on my Mac. Totally confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Update: Got it up and running. Problem was that i tried to flash everything into the wrong directory. Really like the lockscreen notifications.:p

I just gave my dad my N5 that I bought straight from play store and used on sprint..... He took it to at&t and they said the phone was locked by sprint and they couldn't activate.....what needs to be done so he can use on At&t?

Welcome to Android Central! All Nexus 5's are supposed to be carrier unlocked, so I think they might mean that the phone is still attached to your Sprint account. You may have to talk to Sprint and make sure your account is completely closed, or that the Nexus 5 is completely removed from your account. Have you already swapped SIM cards with the new AT&T one?

I still have sprint ....I have the N6 now and gave the n5 to him to use under his att contract.....so I need to call sprint and have them take it off my account?

I think so. Call Sprint and explain the situation to them. Hopefully, they're familiar with the process.

I have a completely stock N5, but i'd like to put the battery percentage on the lockscreen. Is there an app that would put those little numbers on the top of the lockscreen? Thanks for any feedback.:p

Try Power Toggles. You can include a battery info icon in a notification toggle bar, which should show up on the lockscreen as long as you allow notifications on the lockscreen.

Hi All,

I have this question that I couldn't find an answer for!!!

Is there a way to prevent or disable using the shortcut settings from the lock screen???

Let's say that I lost my phone somewhere and somebody finds it.
This person could easily turn the screen on, flop the screen down twice, use the short cut settings to turn off the Cellular data, preventing me from finding my phone using the device manager on the web.

Isn't this a security issue???

I am using LG Nexus 5, Android 5.0.1.

Welcome to Android Central! That's a good point, although the only thing the person could do would be to turn on Airplane Mode, thus rendering it unusable as a phone as well. There doesn't seem to be a way to disable the quick settings drop down in the lockscreen. This would be good feedback to Google!

Re: Nexus 5 Problems and Issues list.

Hi All,

Love my Lollipop.. (finally have quick settings for auto-rotate and flashlight).. but having some issues with my Smart Lock. I always used Skip-Lock prior to the L5.0 update and it was very reliable. I have set my home & work trusted places to on but It only works half the time and I am still required to type in my pin. Anyone else having this issue? Does GPS have to stay on? Can't it tell location by Wifi Connection?

Re: Nexus 5 Problems and Issues list.

Welcome to Android Central! Location using wi-fi or mobile data isn't as accurate as GPS, and I've found that it can locate me several hundred yards away from where I actually am. This could then make your phone think that you aren't home, and therefore not skip the lockscreen.

My nexus 5 battery is draining like crazy! The phone is less than a year old, and it seems that CONACTS process, which is a system process, is consuming most of the battery life.
I went through a painful factory reset (no backup is really a backup) - and it was fine for a couple of weeks - but now - again! Battery lost 80% in about 2 hours!!
PLEASE HELP!:(:(

Hey guys - having a wierd issue since upgrading my n5 to lollipop. When I pick up a call, after a few seconds the phone goes to the lock screen automatically as I'm talking, and when that happens the other person can't hear me. I have to turn the screen on, unlock it, and then it works again. But, if - as soon as I answer the call - I press power button to turn off the screen, then the issue doesn't happen.

Anyone seen this before? Its driving me mad!

Re: Nexus 5 Problems and Issues list.

Look. My husband is getting a bug report in my phone. I have a Nexus 5, and its a says hammerhead? I am not brilliant at this phone stuff. What I need to know, is is there a way I can prevent him getting a bugreport? What should I do to my device? Please, and answers will be helpful.

Re: Nexus 5: Problems & Issues (window sliding hurts my eyes)

Hi,

Is there a way to prevent the screens on the nexus 5 from 'sliding'?

I received it as a gift but under these conditions I won't be able to use it.

Is it possible to make all screens just appear immediately without any slide or growing in size from small to big?

There's nothing wrong with my eyes by the way, for now, but within minutes of using the phone my eyes begin to ace, my head also and I start feeling nauseous. I canceled the 'vibrate on touch' and tap sounds but it's still not enough.

Thanks,
Sagitta13

Do you mean sliding from left to right? This is on all Android phones. You can reduce the number of screens by deleting the icons.

Re: Nexus 5: Problems & Issues (window sliding hurts my eyes)

Hi,

I meant the movement itself when a screen appears. It doesn't matter how many icons I have displayed. When I tap an icon the new screen appears by increasing from a small size until it fills the screen, instead of simply displaying the entire screen size instantly. It's probably programmed this way because it seems cool, but It's not good for my eyes.

Go into developer's options and decrease the animations to 25%. Tap build number (settings, about phone) 7 times to get the developers options menu.
