Nexus 5: Problems & Issues

Re: Nexus 5 Problems and Issues list.

Is anyone else having problems with DW Dialer on the Nexus 5? I have the pro version installed, but am never prompted to use the DW DIaler when attempting a call. It keeps sending me back to Google Dialer. How do I designate a default dialer on Kit Kat?

Curious if anyone is having a little lag when using the back button. Seems to happen mostly when using chrome.

Chrome is interacting with the Internet. The back button is sending a request for the last Internet page. Therefore lag when using the back button must be a result of slow Internet response. Yes, I experience it when I'm connected to a slow server or have a slower Internet connection.

Oh OK I just found it odd that the button wouldn't respond to my touches at all for a couple seconds, thanks

Re: Nexus 5 Problems & Issues

I am having major problems transferring music, creating folders etc from my Windows XP to Nexus 5. The Comp recognises Nexus 5 and I am able to open the internal storage folder but cannot perform any tasks. Had no problem with my Samsung Galaxy S4 in this regard. Please help.

So you are unable to drag files over to the device? Seems odd. Did you try to reboot your computer?

If that doesn't help you should just get the Airdroid app. Works amazing.

Re: Nexus 5 Problems & Issues

VPN issue in 4.4 seems to be fixed in 4.4.1. My N7 on 4.4 still drops packets when connected. My N5 on 4.4.1 doesn't at all.

Re: Nexus 5 Problems & Issues

Thanks. Will give Airdroid a try. Cheers.

Re: Nexus 5 Problems & Issues

Since updating to 4.4.1 my WiFi has begun to drop again. It did it before but after unchecking 'Avoid Poor Connections' it stopped. After updating I have noticed it's started to do it again.

Re: Nexus 5 Problems & Issues

My device has hissing/mic issues when I record a video and during phone call. In addition, I can not barely here the other caller due to hissing and it being very low. I am very angry with Google because I want a refund, but I am out of my 15 day period.

Re: Nexus 5 Problems & Issues

I've been noticing when I hit a particular spot on the screen (next to the volume button) there's a slight popping sound. I pulled the back off to have a quick look and it appears to be coming from the spot where the (what I presume to be) the NFC pins from the phone meet the contacts on the back panel.

Haven't gotten update yet. Have had wifi issues and resolved in same manner you did. Hope not another maddening round of trying to make such a key feature as wifi work through workarounds.
If the problem persists, I will leave Nexus 5 behind in a hurry despite my fondness for this phone. All the pluses don't overcome that massive negative. Google needs to fix the glitch!

Re: Nexus 5 Problems & Issues

Went to bed, my battery was around 50% and it just...died? Look at the graph, no gradual discharge it just went to 0 all of a sudden.

Anyone ever see this? I'm on 4.4.1

Re: Nexus 5 Problems & Issues

I had an unexpected battery drain last night too - usually, after I charge it to 100%, and leave it off the charger, it is about 98% in the morning. Today, it was about 48% - battery usage didn't show any indication of what went wrong (high usage by idle etc - as expected). But it definitely was not the sudden drop to 0 that your device showed (@mzanette)
Which app seems to have claimed max battery usage?

Top 2 battery drainers were "screen" and "google services"...weird. I'll keep an eye on this.

Could be the battery indicator decided to go crazy. Did you try restarting? I know my S2 was reporting the wrong battery life all of the time before I got my N5. The whole device would freeze up and restart. Upon restart it would always show 14% or less when before the reboot I could have had 90%. Usually a restart fixed it.
