Nexus 5: Problems & Issues

I have a problem with my wifi connection.
when i turn it on if have internet for 20 seconds and after the 20 seconds it stops for 20 seconds and then turn back on then off ......
What can i do about it ?

Is "OK Google" working most of the time for everyone? My nexus 5 is great but whenever I say "OK Google" it never works except when I restart my phone. If my phone is idle for awhile and I try to use it again it doesn't work. I haven't rooted it, its pretty much stock except that I had it on ART runtime but recently switched back to Davlik to see if that had anything to do with but doesn't seem like it. Anyways...anyone else have this problem or have a fix?

Apps that produce or record sound stop the feature. I have found that I must manually close Sound Hound before the mic fills up showing Google was ready for the keyword. Google Music works when I pause it.

After much googling I found out that the issue was with my chrome beta app. I uninstalled it and had been working flawlessly since.

There are a few threads here about WiFi issues. Did you try going into phone settings, there's something about weak WiFi signals and checking or uncheck a box to ignore them.

Also maybe you could try disconnecting and then reconnecting to your home WiFi. Are you using a security password which you may not have put into the phone's WiFi settings?

well its back now i could use it for 2 houres without a problem but now its back i dont know what to do :(:(

Try unchecking WiFi optimization and Avoid Poor Connections. Change WiFi frequency bands to 2.5GHz or 5GHz (not auto) depending on what your router is set to. Press and hold your connection. Hit Modify network and look under IP settings. Change it to static and keep the settings it auto fills in. Also if your router is using WEP security try WPA.

I had a problem where the stock alarm clock icon in the notification bar would flicker and disappear at times. It turned out to be an issue with Pandora (5.1.1), which apparently added some new alarm clock functionality that was causing the issue. Not sure if many others experienced that.

I actually started noticing this too. I would set an alarm but the icon wouldn't show up. Worried that it didn't set I would go back into the alarm clock and see it actually was turned on then once I backed out the icon would appear again.

I just uninstalled Pandora and problem solved! It's a good thing that I'm not a paid subscriber as I'd be miffed.

When I use the HDR+ for photos it just closes the camera and has this HDR+ process running in the background for ages. Not sure if the problem is because I only have like 200MB free for usage.

As long as my alarm goes off I'm OK with it. I am a paid subscriber of Pandora and don't want to stop using it but hopefully it gets fixed!

I've got lot's of issues.

First of all, I have a tiny hole in the back part of the phone (like a needle). Second, I have an INTERNAL scratch into my front camera (it works well, but it annoys me). Third, when I connect my Nexus to my computer via USB starts working with a lot of lag. Anyone knows about this issues? Should I call Google Play and tell them this? Thanks a lot :)

Welcome to Android Central! The first two issues sound like grounds to ask for a replacement. The Nexus 5 should not have any holes on the back, and any disruption of the inside of the camera glass is presumably a defect. How old is the phone, and where did you buy it? If you bought it directly from Google, I think you should just contact them for a replacement.

I bought it on the 8th January and it arrived on the 10th or 11th... I'm going to call Google Play.

Hi guys,

Nexus noob here! I bought a Nexus 5 late last month, and the volume rocker seems to be 'sticky' as in when I press down on it, it will stay in that position for a split second. Having replaced my S4 because the volume rocker got completely stuck, I'm worried this may happen to my new Nexus 5 too. Is this something to worry about?

Welcome to Android Central! The main issue with some of the earlier builds was buttons that felt loose. Was it like this straight out of the box? Is it possible that some random gunk got in there, like a little soda or other sugary liquid? You might consider swabbing around the button with a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol.

The only thing I've noticed is some light bleed on the upper left hand side near the volume buttons and the upper left corner. Not sure if it's something I should get an RMA for.

Is this a common problem or issue?
