Nexus 5 restock?

I respectfully disagree. I believe the white and red are in much more demand, making them harder to get. They do offer the white and red, but sell out extremely quick.

No way, the black is always going to be the standard color in phones/electronics and be the highest selling model. Kinda like a coke at a fast food restaurant or vanilla ice cream.

@ Ed Briggs: That doesn't mean they're 'in demand'. It just means that demand has been exceeding availability. Since we can't quantify how many N5s have been made available or in what relative proportions (wrt the colours) we can't make any worthwhile statement relating to the demand.

What we can do is make observations based on the real world. Personally, I've only seen the white and red N5s on the internet. I have seen a small quantity of black ones in the wild.

Wow- it is 38 min from your posting, and they are STILL in stock. Amazing...

But even if the Play Store stops selling them, you will still be able to get one for years from now. There are companies that hoard them and sell them on ebay, amazon, etc...... Don't worry, they'll be around for a long time.

Yeah, I have noticed companies hoarding stuff like this and then selling them continuously on Ebay and Amazon, brand new in box, and with original pricing (or often even higher). I guess stock marketing speculating, but with physical techno gadgets instead.

Problem is they are more expensive everywhere else other than the play store. It seems like the best place to buy an n5 is the play store.

I bet Google replaces the N5 with an updated device in about the same form factor when they finally stop selling it. While phablets are the hottest thing in consumer electronics now there is still huge demand for 5" phones.

BTW, I'd be wary of buying any device with a built-in lithium-ion battery that's been sitting on the shelf for a long time (> 6 months). They deteriorate over time if unused. However, you can replace the battery -- it's a doable DIY job -- see IFixIt.com.

Unlike a used N5, these new N5 most likely have been produced very recently and have a fresh battery. Also in my case, I cannot wait for a new 5" in the spring as my current phone is an N4 with only 8GB and I am constantly clearing the cache, pictures and apps to make room for updates of apps that I use every day. So waiting is NOT an option for me. And I do not want a 6" phone for $300 more.

BTW, it is now Sunday and the N5 is still in stock.
