Nexus 5. Screen flickers/moves up and down after replacing USB port connector.

Hello all, I hope I'm posting in the correct forum. I recently damaged the usb port on my old nexus 5 and decided to change it. A couple days after replacing it the screen started to flicker, and with use and heat it got quickly worse. I read that usually a flickering screen is fixed exactly by replacing the usb flex connector.. I bought a cheap one on amazon, is it worth it to try with an original replacement instead?
