I know this has been brought up in the past so Im sorry if it was answered and I missed it. I searched for it but I never saw any where if anyone had an answer for it.

I have a N5 on AT&T. I will be carrying on a conversion with someone and then the texts will stop for awhile and then a bunch will come in. Sometimes a delay of a couple minutes or up to twenty or longer. Sometimes if I send a person a text I will then receive a bunch of texts.

I have tried different apps (hangouts, textra, etc) and resetting the phone. If its a person with an iPhone I made sure my contact says mobile and not iPhone. I have unregistered my number with apple so its off iMessage.

Anyone have ideas??

Again, sorry if this was answered before but I couldn't find anything.

Re: Text delay

Has it always been like that for you or is it something new?

Re: Text delay

Does this happen regardless of cell signal strength?

Re: Text delay

I had never experienced this before with my N5 on AT&T...that is until two days ago. I think AT&T was having some major issues all day. I was in four different conversations when all of them stopped for about three hours...I thought it was strange that everyone coincidentally became busy at the same time, but I had class and ignored it. Until I sent them follow-up texts and I received their reply, along with all of their previous replies that they had sent me several hours ago.

When I pulled down the notification panel and hit the top-right to go to the quick-setting panels, my AT&T network (H+ at the time) was colored orange, rather than the usual white. What does it mean when your data connection is orange? This is significant, because when I received everyone's replies and everything worked normally again, it was back to being white colored.

Re: Text delay

Orange is the new grey. In other words, an orange data connection icon means you've lost connection to the Google server. This can mean that the Google servers are having problems, or that the whole network connection is down. So in your case, it sounds like AT&T's network was having a problem, leading to your texting issue.

Re: Text delay

It seems it has gotten worse the last few months. I did notice once that it said I had full service but then I pulled the notification bar down it said emergency calls only. Turned it on airplane mode and back off and it was fine.

Got'cha, thanks B. Diddy :) hope it doesn't keep happening.
