AC Question

Hi,

i've had a Nexus 5x since January and it's been absolutely great until yesterday. I used it until the battery completely drained. Now it won't turn back on and has been charging for 24 hours. The little light above the charging port blinks once when I try and power on the device. The socket is working as other devices charge from it. I've tried booting in to recovery mode and soft resetting but the phone is still completely unresponsive.

I've spoken with LG and they've advised that the phone will be away for around 14 working days which isn't ideal!

Has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks
Matt

Welcome to Android Central! Have you also tried pressing and holding Power for at least 15-20 seconds?

That's frustrating. It could be the Power button, the battery, or the motherboard. You probably don't have much choice but to send it in for warranty repair. Do you have a backup phone?

Yeah a dreadful Z1... 30% battery left after 4 hours! Going to have to bite the bullet and send it off.

I'm having the exact same problem. The phone simply froze, turned off and wont turn back on again. Ive had no luck with the normal troubleshooting guide from google. Did LG resolve the issue for you?

Same exact problem here. Finally got it to turn on by charging overnight then holding power + volume up. Now, a day later, and my phone froze and it stuck in a restart loop showing the "Google" screen, then restarting again. Going to have to contact LG I guess...

This recently happened to me (boot loop). After troubleshooting it myself by following the guide I ended up sending it into Google. They were quick to send me back a new phone.

Same here.... About three weeks ago, my Nexus 5x had the same issue... Reboot loop. I typically buy my phones from the Google store, so I called Google on another phone and they quickly RMA'd my reboot looped phone and sent me a brand new one (not even a refurb)... I didn't even have to pay shipping!

Can't say enough on how well Google handled it... Very pleased myself.

My advice to anyone experiencing this issue is to work with LG or whoever you purchased the phone from. If you have insurance from your carrier or a third party, that may work as well (worth a shot at least). It seems some 5x's are having this issue and the phones are being replaced.

I couldn't get mine to come back to life, but unfortunately, I didn't buy from Google, so I'm having to send in to LG. We'll see how quick their turn-around time is...
