Nexus 6 64GB Not Available

I think they have sold more Nexus 6 than they thought they would... To say the Nexus line is not and never will be really sought after.... I'd have to disagree.. Leading up to the launch I visited several T-Mobile stores to see what they knew and each one said they had a lot of demand for the phone. A lot of walk in traffic and calls asking if they would have it.... I've had several random people in the mall, Target or Walmart ask "Hey is that the Nexus 6?" and that never happened once with my 5.... Granted the 5 kind of blended in.. Where as the sheer size of the Nexus 6 stands out a little more... Most people thought my 5 was a Samsung device... Heck I've actually seen Nexus 6 commercials on TV...

Overall it's really hard to say.... Unlike Apple hardware is not even 5% of Google's sales.. 90+% of their sales is from Ad/search revenue.... and they've never once announced Nexus sales figures... It's all a guessing game.....

And for every person you saw coming in asking about a nexus there were a hundred others looking for an i phone or a samsung. Also google probably did under estimate the demand for the n6 but it is safe to say that Nexus's account for a very small percentage of total smartphone sales worldwide. I don't think anybody could disagree with that. In the world as a whole nexus's are rather unknown and therefore relatively few and far between.

I check on Moto and the Play store every day and no luck

I even called T-Mobile today to buy it outright but the won't sell it to me because I don't have a account with them. I taught about opening a new line with them and cancel it after a month but that is $50 down the drain for a line I don't need

T-Mobile doesn't have them right now either. I ordered one on Dec. 1 and they are saying it will ship in the first week of January. I canceled the order and got a 32 GB instead because I really don't need the extra space. The 32GB shipped immediately. I'm still getting these email updates from TMo telling me when my 64 will ship, even though I canceled it. According to their last email, the earliest it would ship is Dec. 29. I doubt that's even true. IDK why they screwed up so badly on the launch. It would be nice to know what the hell happened.

Broke my phone yesterday. Walked into T-Mobile store within five minutes and bought another.

Dropped on sidewalk. No case. Spiderweb. Will get fixed and sell for hopefully small loss when back from vacation. Needed new one for trip.

At least you were able to get your hands on a new one. Did you a 32gb or 64gb?

I ordered my 64GB on November 24th and got it on December 23rd. Absolutely love it. Worth the wait.

I held out for a 64gb, for me personally it seemed a no brainer to spend the extra $50 to double the memory.
I guess Google might have assumed correctly when thinking most consumers would go for the 32gb, or they're certainly making it look that way by making a much larger #of 32gb available for purchase, compared to 64gb units.

I would have loved to get the 64gb but I didn't want to wait that long and "settled" for the 32. I mean 32 is enough for me anyway. The music and apps I have has been enough surprisingly. Besides, I needed a phone ASAP because I was coming from a Galaxy Nexus Haha.

It is definitely harder to get the 64GB. I checked SWAPPA and they have only one 64GB available.

I have till January 9th to return mine to Google but may sell it at costs to let someone have a 64GB.

I ordered the 64GB directly from Motorola. The estimated delivery date is 01/06/2015 but it's at FedEx facility in my city when I checked this morning

If it was sent "FedEx SmartPost," FedEx will deliver it to USPS, who will then process it for delivery, that could explain the added delay. Alternatively, if it's FedEx Home Delivery, they don't deliver on Monday - but they do normally deliver on Saturday...

Or there's always what I'm sure is your preferred possibility, which is that they beat the estimated date and are knocking on your door in 3...2...1...

My theory is they are just making small amounts at a time. I don't know why, maybe they don't want to take a big loss by making too many they can't sell. I'm not really sure what it is.

I was able to get a MB 64GB on the second wave from Google Play back in November. I was just able to buy a 64GB white version from Motorola on the 28th. After checking daily, it just showed up, and is now out of stock again. I'm supposed to receive it on 1/5. I'll be on my second Nexus 6 after selling my original one, and I really missed the phone.

I tried the Note 4 but I found out I still like the Nexus 6 better. I was doing everything to make the Note 4 like the Nexus, like buying a QI-charging cover, and installing Nova launcher, it's just not the same. I even bought a Moto x pure edition to hold me over, and that makes me want the Nexus 6 more. The Nexus 6 runs Lollipop better than the Moto X, which is a really nice phone.

I really happy to get the white version, because that's the one I really wanted after finding out how the blue one attracts fingerprints. I like the look better also.

Google is artificially limiting Nexus 6 64gb production to ramp up subscription profits. Every Wednesdays, 32 gb is available but 64 is not.

We should do a class suit against Google/Motorola. Anybody knows a good lawyer?

I have the blue and have no issues with fingerprints, although I do usually have 1of 6 cases on it. Lol

Google is going to be naturally hesitant to produce a large number of the one version that is sold basically only through Motorola's site, the Play Store, and T-Mobile; instead, they're taking the logical business step of producing vastly more of the one sold by everyone who sells the Nexus phone line. I'm not saying they shouldn't have been stepping up production once the demand became clearer, or that they shouldn't have had a more reasonable relative supply at launch, but there were a number of reasons for them to be uncertain as to how well the phone would initially be received (even looking up old threads here, on a forum whose readership is skewed towards awareness of the Nexus line, the polls completely underestimated the number of people that would buy any version of such a 'large' phone).

As to "subscription profits, could you clarify what you mean? In terms of the hardware itself, sales of the 64GB likely generate greater per-device profit, and their revenues from apps sold through the app store are the same irrespective of the device for which it is purchased.

What did the polls indicate and how do you know they were inaccurate?

The white version actually attracts fingerprints just as bad, it just doesn't show up as easily. I agree, It's nothing that a case won't solve, as well as having a cloth handy.

He's probably referring to Google Drive subscriptions as people that need the storage because 32gb is not enough will buy more cloud storage. Seems a little wonky in that how do they know anyone is going to use Drive anyway. However, limiting these phones to 16gb (not this particular phone but many others as well as tablets) and scrubbing sd cards is most certainly to force users to pay for cloud storage.
