Nexus 6 battery after one week

My experience has been nearly identical to the OP, and I got the phone the day after T-mobile released it.

I did do a factory reset and removed the facebook app....big difference. I am setting at 16 hours since my last charge, 2 hours and 39 mins screen on time, and 25% left.

Way better than it used to be.

Would putting location mode from high accuracy to battery saver make a big difference? I mean, my stats are decent, but some of your stats are a bit more impressive. How does it affect google now? I really enjoy google now integration...it is why I returned my iphone 6+ for the nexus 6.

Best phone I have ever owned.

I haven't noticed any Ill effect on Google now at all. They still know where you're at using WiFi and cell networks. I would imagine the cell network is enough to give a pretty good idea of location. I would also think you would notice pretty decent battery life improvements by not having the gps antenna on all of the time. In really don't see the need at all to use high accuracy mode short of navigation. I don't think it makes any sense to leave it on high accuracy.

Honestly I think you should return the phone if you're having battery issues. There are many threads about terrible battery life.

Mkbhd even made a video where he says he used his one plus one at ces instead of his nexus 6 because of battery life. Phonedog just posted a video where they said the phone isn't worth the money because of battery life.

In my opinion you shouldn't have to disable so many things just to get decent battery life.

I don't agree with statements that your phone may be a dud. I think other people are just okay with the workarounds to get optimal battery life and to them their device is working fine.

Dude I really have no idea what's wrong, this is my battery life (small bump is when I was transfering images from phone to pc.
26% battery atm, 3hours of screen time. I do have GPS, Wifi and mobile data on all the time.
Edit.
I also have 3 email addresses connected - gmail, and two other syncing every hour.

Same deal with my unit. I getting around 20 hours on a single charge with 4-5 hours screen time. Curious if the carrier branded units are having an issue. Grabbed mine from Motorola and its running without any issues.

According to my battery app, here are my stats for the past month. 19hrs/chg, 5 hrs SOT.

No workarounds except that I use wifi/networks as my location setting. I am not alone among the people here.....I believe his phone IS a dud.

I returned the phone this morning after getting less than 3 hours screen time out of it yesterday. I've no idea what phone I'll get now.

In the meantime I'm using my Xperia M2 backup phone.

I'm seriously considering an iPhone 6+.

I was looking at them last week and they're a beautiful piece of engineering. Such a well made phone.

I agree, the 6+ is very nice in a different way than android. In a clean and simple way. I think if you have more than one device the 6/6+ is a great addition as it is a wholly different experience than android. ...but if you can only have one contemporary device and don't need the simplicity of iPhone there are better choices IMO.

I have a Nexus 7, soon to be upgraded to a Nexus 9. I think the 6 Plus would compliment that very nicely.

From a hardware point of view there is no better option than an iPhone in my opinion. From a software point of view though, that's a different matter. Thanks for your input, much appreciated.

You feel the 6+ offers nicer hardware than the Note 4? What makes you feel that way?

I had a Note 4 and it's a very nice phone. Leaving software aside for a minute, the iPhone feels like a more premium product. The metal around the edge of the Note 4 marks easily, mine did at least, the although the back felt nice I prefer the aluminium feel of the iPhone.

Might be, my phone is not branded as well, wonder about other people having (or not having) the issues?

Although mine came from a carrier (O2) it was unlocked and unbranded.

always nice to have a backup phone.

It is, and although I know it's not a fair comparison, I'm on 65% battery with 2 hours 35 minutes screen on time. Crazy.
