yes, I know about losing user apps and system data when flashing. what I meant was the sdcard partition, where all the photos, downloads, music, etc are stored. the thing is I would like to keep encryption, but I don't understand what happens when flashing a decrypted/no forced encryption rom over an encrypted one.I may be mistaken but anytime you flash a ROM to your phone you loose all data and apps. You should always do a backup of anything that you do not want to loose. You may want to took at this article: how-disable-encryption-android-lollipop.
A recovery won't be able to access your SDCard since it is encrypted.
