Nexus 6 or lg g4

I know. What's up with this whole removable battery thing? Batteries will easily last 2 years now unless you get a bad one. Do people actually carry around 2 batteries? If that's the case, a portable lipstick sized charger can give you a boost. The whole removable battery thing is way overblown. I've never seen anyone in my life carry an extra battery.

Back on topic...... Ummmm, I say LG G4. Just kidding. Of course most people here will say Nexus 6. I just love pure android and the speed it brings. You can keep it simple, or make as complicated as you desire. That's what I love about it as opposed to manufacturer/carrier cruft added without much choice in the matter.

I have the G4 and if I'm gonna be out and about for a full day like a Saturday then yea I've gotta carry a second battery or my mophie booster pack. I went from 60% to 3% on a 2 hour motorcycle cruise with Bluetooth playing on my LG tones and Google maps running. My phone screen was off too.

That's why I made this thread trying to figure out what phone I want to move to next.

went and looked at a Nexus today and the camera app is very weird like how the bottom 1/4 is all one big camera button.. also the gallery shows the photos like an iPhone does.. shrunk and not full screen... Is this true or just the floor model doing

Well... the sensor on the Nexus 6 is a 4:3 ratio.... which is smaller than the screen.... so they just filled it with one big button. :) I've used it for so long, it doesn't really bother me much, just makes it easier to take a pick since I don't have to hit a tiny button. You can use any number of 3rd party camera apps. But you lose HDR+... which is a great mode.

The LG G4.

I find the phone better in terms of ergonomics, the camera is killer, the software never bugged me and of course, a removable battery and microSD card slot, 2 things that I use often.

I'm having a lot of keyboard lag and missed touches. Also poor battery life. I feel like LG didn't test there software/hardware very well

Mine doesn't.

Is yours a carrier version? Because I've heard carrier versions might have some issues. Mine is the H815 unlocked version.

So the ratio of photos are only 4:3??

That's the sensor at full resolution (and more of a standard photo size). The G4, S6 and Note 4 use a sensor that is 16x9 at full.

To be honest, I prefer 4x3 for stills.

OK. Is that when you open the gallery app the photo doesn't expand to the full screen size

Yes I'm on Verizon... So I can only get a Verizon one... Verizon doesn't play well with unlocked devices

I had the nexus 6 Verizon went to g4 and now back to the nexus 6. I get twice the battery life on my nexus. I always had google services problems with the g4 taking up 10 to 15% of battery life and it's always 1 or 2% on my nexus. I may be in the minority that I like the g4 software much more than other skins, but I also would prefer stock. The camera is great on the g4 but not as good as I anticipated. That maybe from my own expectations and all the hype. The battery life was the deciding factor. I get around 6 hours of on screen time with the nexus and I was getting about 3 on the g4 and a couple times 4 hours but in my opinion that is not acceptable.

The only way to truly appreciate a Nexus device is to use one for more than a few minutes. You can always use a different camera app. Compare a Nexus to just about any phone in the world, (after using it for a while) and you'll understand why people often say: "I wish I had gone Nexus sooner".

But whatever choice you make, have fun with it. That's the bottom line.

Well said. Loved my Nexus 5. But the G4 was calling my name. Couldn't resist.

I had the nexus 6 for a week and then returned it. Agree why you said about nexus in general but the 6 is just not practical.

Not practical for what?

Well, I'm sure the size becomes a real problem for most. I have monster hands, and the Nexus 6 lies at the maximum end of where I could comfortably use the thing one-handed. The size is a polarizing feature. For some, it is awesome, for others, it is a hurdle that can't be overcome.

There's nothing wrong with that, though. Personally, I find 5" phones to be impractical now... I always felt crowded using them and the Nexus 6 is like a breath of fresh air.
