Nexus 6 v Note 4

Re: Nexus 6

Now that's interesting. If this photo is an accurate representation then the usable screen size of the Note is larger. Very interesting.

Naa the pics show more with the nexus 6. If you look at the bottom about 2 - 4 centimeters of the bottom bezel is there so shouldn't the nexus 6 have more space?

If you look at where the bottom line is drawn just above the onscreen buttons on the Nexus, you can see that it actually cuts into the usable screen of the Note 4 and then the tops are even. That means that there is more usable space on the Note 4.

Yes but if the top is even that would only mean a 2-3 centimeter difference and up to personal preference of on screen or physical buttons

Yes, but those looking for a much larger screen aren't really getting that. But yes, if you prefer onscreen buttons, you would want to go for the Nexus 6.

Re: Nexus 6

I left a Note device once (Note 3) thinking I would like something else better.. I am not making that mistake again :)
I just don't have what it takes to make a switch to something else. I'm so loyal to android it doesn't even bother me when apple come out with new phones.

girls love tech too

Re: Nexus 6

Good video. Now seeing the video the nexus is not bad at all. I think the battery life would be better on the nexus device because it's pure Android. Touchwiz has alot of stuff running in the background. I just might invest in one. First time I'm excited about a nexus device.

Verizon Galaxy S5

What in Touchwiz is running in the background that effects battery life? Please post screenshots of the Touchwiz app/feature effecting battery life.

Maybe some people just want a larger phone screen and have no need for stylus features. The Nexus 6 is just another alternative rather than a direct note competitor.

While I initially got the note 3 because of the bigger screen I think I'll prefer the note 4 over nexus 6 because of all the multitasking I use with the Samsung devices. Even when I had the nexus 5 I sort of missed multi window which I had on my old s4

I was thinking of cancelling my verizon note 4 preorder to get the nexus 6 but now it looks like there will be no notification light and I really prefer the notification light over the moto x style active display notification because it is easier to see from a distance.

Re: Nexus 6

Supposedly 6" screen, except the large chunk was eaten by the captive buttons on the bottom. lol

i will believe it when I see it.

Remember people claiming KK was a battery star? and guess what, its atrocious.

Google is squeezing so many things into the OS that uses internet in the background, its getting worse with every new version.

I will not buy a 100% google device and give google unfiltered access to my life.

I would have to disagree with battery life getting worse with every version. I just went from my Note 3 to my Note 4 and my battery life has dramatically improved. It doesn't seem to chug battery as bad as my Note 3.

respectfully, the difference between note 3 and 4 are not software alone, and its not entirely google's software neither. :)

Re: Nexus 6

My fiancee is soon for update on her phone. She is really liking the Note 4 that I've been showing her...maybe I can give her my Note 4 and she can get me the Nexus 6...buahahaha.

Understandable but you were strictly talking about software and how it always gets worse .. When I have had the same software on both phones and seen a dramatic difference. Of course hardware helps .. But if software is programmed horrible I don't care if you have the best hardware .. It will still run bad.

With a nexus, you can root and get rid of the buttons in favor of something like pie controls, so you can maximize the whole screen.

But, by default, it is interesting to see the note 4 with the extra space for writing.

Thanks for the pic.

I just wish att note 4 had a root solution....

Pie control is available on note series from google play w/o root. I use it every day.

The nexus 6 is definitely a hot device, no denying that. Still lets wait for actual reviews and hands on videos before we cast judgments. If I do switch from the Note 4, it will be many months down the road. Biggest thing for me will be the camera. I'm not spending $650 for a phone with a sub par camera. So far every Nexus camera has been a fail! Not only that, but this Nexus is from Motorola. Another maker of POS camera's. Until this changes, I'm sticking with the Note 4
