Nexus 6p on att

Are they just going to mail you the nano sim?

No he got the nano sim in store and he activated it over the phone himself.

Which, I just did the same thing. They don't just activate the sim without the phone present anymore. For whatever reason, they want the imei now. Maybe to keep track of what's being used. Idk, but it went smoothly for me.

Yeah, they just gave it to me at the store w/o activating it. He said he wasn't 100% sure if they'd do it over the phone. Fortunately, they did, no questions asked.

The guy on the phone got excited when I told him it was the 6P. Said he's heard a lot of great things about it. :)

They lied. Just order a sim cutter tool on amazon. I have never carried my phone the full 2 years.
Do a test. Borrow someone else's phone that has AT&T bands and put your sim in it. It will work.
But this is another reason why I'm never getting devices from carriers ever again. Even their own employees don't have a clue.

Just cut my sim with this tool, used the nano to micro adapter and put it back into my HAM 2 (still waiting for my 6P). Even though a little of the gold edge got cut off, sim works just fine.

6P on AT&T?

Sorry in advance for all the newbie questions! Currently on a Nexus 6 on the only cellular network that receives signal at my house (weird since I live in a very populated area just outside ATL).....been on big red and Sprint....only ATT gets signal. Thinking of switching to 6P but a few questions first. Will I be able to receive future OTA's if on AT&T? My 6 won't receive Google OTA's if AT&T doesn't push it. Assuming AT&T won't push 6P updates since its not a phone they sell. I know I could sideload or flash, and I guess I will if I have to, but OTA so much easier.

And lastly, advice on where to buy the 6P? Googles site or Huawei? Or another better?

Re: 6P on AT&T?

Yes the Nexus 6P will receive updates directly from google. AT&T has nothing do with it. Buy your 6P directly from Google.

Re: 6P on AT&T?

Im with At&t and received one OTA update already just fine. Like said above at&t has nothing to do with the phone software updates they come straight from google. I suggest buying from google store it will process and ship faster. I've read lots of post that Huawei takes a while to ship.

Ordering from Google store mine took about 5 days total to arrive

Re: 6P on AT&T?

I was on At&t until yesterday and received OTA's no problem. This phone has no ties to At&t whatsoever. I am on T-Mobile now though. The reason for the change is because At&t won't support VoLTE with this phone because its unlocked and I wanted WiFi calling.

I was told differently by two different AT&T agents. Since I still owe device installments they can't transfer my main number to a Nexus device unless I pay off those installments. So I have to cancel my order with Nexus because I can't pay those device installments off right now. So much for that idea. AT&T said you can switch out the SIM cards as long as you are purchasing the said devices thru AT&T. But if you bring your own device, and want to use an existing phone number, there can't be any installments due. They won't let you do that. Really makes me mad. No Nexus for me right now.

SO what happens if you damage your device and put your Sim into a different device? They will cancel your service? If you have a larger Sim, just cut it using an online template. Super easy. They can't force you to stay on the device as long as you keep making the payments. Just tell me you switch back and forth for work related reasons.
