Nexus 6P Or S6 Edge Plus?

One of the reasons I sold my S6 edge was lag in TouchWiz. Also bad signal and battery.

Lag on the 2015 galaxy line up is uncommon. You can see threads here on forums. You won't find them much.

I don't agree with you I'm sorry.
And I haven't had even a single stutter in my 5 months of use.

And I've been using just touchwiz. No launcher.

My Moto X PE is a much smoother experience than my Samsung S6 Edge. The Moto's camera is just not up to par. I had lag with Touch Wiz. It just wasn't a user friendly experience, but that is just my opinion. I think that I'm officially done with Samsung. I have been a huge proponent of their products, but they seem to have lost something on the race to be the biggest. Even my Samsung Flat Screens have turned out to be duds. I have had to fix 2 of them right after the 18 month warranty expired. They were easy to fix, since they had known issues, and there is a plethora of videos on YouTube to fix them, but I don't want to have to fix stuff anymore. I just want it to work.

I'd have probably kept my Edge+ if not for the fact that it refused to send MMS messages through my AT&T Microcell. The only phone I've ever owned that refused to do so. (Turns out that it's a Samsung issue, which has never been fixed.) The Edge+ is definitely sexier and was a conversation starter during the time I owned it. And the actual "edge" was very handy for me. But form most definitely did not beat function. The 6P is very close style-wise and has the added benefit of working flawlessly with my Microcell. If you don't rely on a Microcell, I don't see how you can go wrong with either phone. Oh and there was absolutely zero lag on my Edge+, for what it's worth. So I never understood the Touchwiz hate.

Samsungs are amazing phones spec wize. No better in the industry hands down. The edge is a gimmick though IMO.

Where they fail is software, development / openness and updates.

If those things aren't a big deal to you, then by all means a Samsung device is a great option.

If those things are important to you then Samsung devices are not a good option.

Look, people are so obsessed with "best" these days. The difference between "best" and paying almost double and "almost as good as best" and paying close to half price is negligible at best. There is no reason to be obsessed with hardware whatsoever anymore when the middle ground is so close to the top end and user experience really doesn't suffer one bit.

Add into that the fact that Samsung devices get little to no developer support, are heavily fragmented with versions around the world and are slow to get updates (assuming they ever come) the decision is very easy for me.

I switched from the Galaxy s6 to the 6p and am much happier. I much prefer the clean, stock android and timely updates. Being on Verizon, Samsung updates CA take an eternity
