Bought the s7 edge and loved it dor the first 2 days and didnt touch my nexus and thought, wow greatest phone ever but touchwiz is okay ill deal with it... 3rd day and wow how much i actually aplreciate my nexus. The smoothness and beauty of the 6P has me missing my 6P more than my new S7. The S7 edge does have way better battery life though

Interesting. I'm considering getting either of these so interested in people's opinions. The galaxy is the latest and greatest but the nexus isn't that old and has a lot going for it with stock android and fast updates. Hmmm, not an easy decision!

The Galaxy S7 is a powerhouse with waterproofing and stuff. But, it costs $250 more than the Nexus 6P, and the Nexus has way better software. That's why the Nexus 6P is better.

Definitely not an easy decision, they are both great phones. Ultimately you need to choose what is best for your own usage. Between the two I'd personally choose the 6P.

Definitely a hard choice. Im still stuck between them, one is beyond gorgeous and has an amazing battery, other is stick android and smoother and cleaner, i just cant choose but i like stock better...

I own an S7 and an iPhone 6 and a Nexus 6p. The S7 is dedicated to my VR (don't use it as a phone at all), the iPhone 6 just sits there, and the Nexus 6p is my daily driver. I've owned every phone under the sun, and the 6p tops them all in every department.... Even battery life!

I can say the S7 edge gets really good battery life as well... Technically both phones do (my S7 Edge / 6P). Doze is a big factory when it comes to that.

I've always been a pretty die hard Nexus fan. And the 6P is a really incredible phone. I'd love to try out an S7 Edge for a while...it's the first phone which has really tempted me away from Nexus devices in a long time, especially now that they've sorted the battery life out. My only concern is waiting what seems like an age for the newest version of Android to be pushed out by Samsung (and then carriers). Especially this year with Android N on its way.

I'm curious as to how much Touch Wiz cripples the S7? The S7s have an 820 which is supposed to be significantly faster than the 810 in the 6P but if the S7 feels slower than the 6P, of even if it feels the same, it would say a lot about how much Touch WIz weighs the phone down.

I gave some serious thought to the S7, but I swore after I ditched my S6 for the 6p that I'd go back to Nexus phones from here on out. I do like the S7 a lot, but the 6p is still the right phone for me (for now).

I tried out the GS7 edge in the Verizon store and it made me happy that I don't have all of the VZW bloat on my 6P. It's nice hardware, but once you go Nexus you just can't go back. I'll probably upgrade to whatever new Nexus comes out later this year. The GS7 Edge is the top phone I recommend people who are upgrading through carriers though.

The S7Edge is an exceptional piece of hardware but Samsung IMO still has a lot of work to do to scale back and polish Touchwiz. The camera and the IP68 are nice features to have on a phone but honestly it's not enough for me to be swayed from the 6P. Plus the S7Edge is roughly $250.00 bucks more and I can't justify paying that price when the 6P does everything I need it to do well, not to mention its buttery smooth, fast, fluid with timely updates.

Same here...have the S6 then got the 6P...no contest, love the simplicity of vanilla android. If Google continue to make Nexus phones as good as the 6P then I`ll never go back to a carrier phone.

I'm going to assume it's a result of Touch Wiz, but the S7 that I use for my GearVR is horribly slow and sluggish. Every time I navigate on it, I'm thankful for my 6p.

It's seriously slower and less responsive than my old note 3.

Such a shame... However, if you're on this forum, it's because you're a techie.... The other 85% of the public won't notice and couldn't care less how sluggish their new, Shiny S7 is.

Nice to see this name around the forums. Brings me back to the prime days of Crackberry nation!

My S7E is identical in terms of speed to my 6P. Browsing, for some odd reason the 6P is a bit faster at web browsing, but apps open identical even though the S7 uses the 820. Personally battery life is better on my edge though, atleast 2 more hours of screen on time between the 2 due to the more efficient 820 and the 150 more mah

Definitely not an easy decision, if you like touchwiz, and you dont care about updates, then S7 or S7E. But if you like the look of stock android, and updates, then 6P. Personally updates arent too huge of a deal, (i do love them though) but toucheiz is what im not too much of a fan of, i just love stock android. It feels too wierd to theme the S7E and make it look a nexus. I like to use a phone how the oem designed the software to look

Haven't used TouchWiz since my GS4, but I'd say that the GS7e is just as fast if not faster than my 6P. Having the 820 and 4GB of RAM definitely help since I assume TouchWiz is still pulling more resources than stock android. But with the extra processing power and RAM, you don't feel it and you can utilize whatever TouchWiz elements you like. I've been on stock Android since the Nexus 5 and I forgot all of the handy features that get included with TouchWiz.

I'm definitely enjoying my S7e so far.

Features like what? I am curious since I have never had a Samsung device.
