Nexus 6P phone audio not working after Nougat update

Updated to Android 7.0 Nougat last night, and since then the phone call audio has not been working on my Nexus 6P, except through the speakerphone. The regular earpiece and mouthpiece do not work -- I can't hear the other person, and they can't hear me. I am hearing the regular notifications and alarms, however.

I have tried a factory reset and powering on and off several times, which has not helped. I have also disabled Bluetooth, which I read was another known issue with Nougat.

A few months ago, a piece of my headphone plug broke off in the jack, and I haven't been able to get it out yet. It never affected phone calling until the Nougat update last night, however.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, so we had the same experience. To correct the problem.
Go to google play and then my apps.
Find the phone app.
I selected uninstall which reverted the app back to the previous version. That seemed to work for me. If it does not work I suggested doing this process twice as I had an update pending on the app already.
