Nexus 7.2 lost sound

The sound suddenly stopped on my new Nexus 7 last night. Sounds are enabled in settings and my apps have sound turned on. Any suggestions?

Sir, did you check everything in Settings>Sound? Tap everywhere in "Sound" until you find where it asks you for the volume of notifications, apps, and sound. If you're looking for the setting where it makes the sound when you tap, it should be in there too. Good luck!

Dumb question but did you reboot your device? If you did, did you try a hard reset?

By reboot do you mean turn it off and then back on? If so, yes. I haven't tried a reset yet; leaving that as a last resort.

Every sound item in settings has been checked and tapped many, many times.

Don't think know what a hard reset is. A factory reset will wipe your data a hard reset doesn't. No need to save for last, you actually shroud have done it first.
