I just bought a brand new Nexus 7 2013 model and the volume of the speakers at max is noticeably lower than my lumia 820 at max.Is this normal or have I got a defective unit? Thanks for helping
Without being able to hear them both and compare them that's challenging for us to say. I've had several Nexus 7's and never had and volume issues. If you've set the volume controls where you want them and the volume is still not where you think it should be you can try exchanging it for another unit but comparing it to a completely different device may not be a good indicator of whether or not there's a problem with its audio.
For instance the click sound which comes from the speakers when you touch the screen is very low at max volume and I can hear it but its very low.Is it the same with your nexus?
Could you tell me whether the sound on my tablet is normal on the basis of this video?I know its difficult to check in a video but still..... Nexus 7 sound - YouTube
Speakers seem loud enough to me (louder than in previous model).
Make sure volume setting is at highest in Settings and/or Volume Switch.
Use a player app with a preamp function (like PowerAmp)
Volume is on max.I will try that player. The only problem which makes me suspect the speakers is that the touch sounds are really low meaning that I can hear them but barely. Also on max volume in vlc media player the movies sound "normal" meaning I can hear them perfectly and I don't feel a need to reduce the volume but thats on max volume. So are my speakers defective?
If convenient, go to any retailer nearby who has a N7 on display and compare the two. I'm suspecting its an issue with your unit, as unless mine is just a particularly loud sample I can't imagine someone being disappointed with the output given the size of the device - it's much, much louder than the 2012 model.
