Nexus 7 battery life?

Pleased with the battery life. I use this more than I use my phone and I've been averaging ~30 hours until 5-10% remaining.

Do I really have to fully discharge the battery before charging it back up? I started yesterday morning (6:30 AM EST) at 100%, used it a little at work and when I got home did some web surfing, watched Tech News Today and started reading a new book. Pretty much it was in constant use from 6 PM EST until 11:00 PM EST.
This morning, I'm at 31% and fear that it will reach 0 sometime tonight when I'm in my heavy usage time ( I really don't want to put it down lol). So do I really have to let it reach 0 before recharging?

Ok, I finally conducted a test to see how long I could get out of my Nexus 7 from 100% charged to the dreaded message that I need to recharge. I used it for all of my computing needs rather than my computer....I watched a couple of videos on it, had streaming radio stations from time to time....just general use things. With the screen brightness set at the auto-set area, it lasts me almost exactly 9 hours. Compared to the 6 1/2 hours that my Kindle Fire gave me, obviously I'm pleased.

Not all the time, no. You probably want to do it at least 2-3 times early on, and make sure you charge it all the way up. After that, it's OK to charge it any time you want. About every couple of months, allow the battery to run down and give it a full recharge once or twice to "recalibrate" the battery.
For long-term battery longevity, according to Battery University and several other sources, you really want to keep the battery between about 20% and 80% charge as much as you can while being realistic and not obsessing about it too much. This is more important for devices without a replaceable battery, of course.
Also, if you need more life out of a specific charge, you can "bump charge" most devices - plug it in, charge to 100%, turn device off, unplug the device and plug it back in, wait until it shows charged again, then repeat a few times as desired. This charges the battery to a true 100% charge - but it's not that good for the battery so only use it when you know you'll need that extra bit of charge.
I've found that my wifi never turns off unless i put it in airplane mode. I'm guessing there is a bug of some sort in jellybean because I have it set to turn off any time it goes into standby in the wifi settings.
I used my N7 a total of 8hrs and the rest time I put the N7 in Airplane mode as you can see the battery life can be pretty good IMO.

My nexus 7 battery was draining over-night, even though it was "sleeping". Here's how I fixed it.
Settings---Wi-Fi--- then touch the three dots in upper right hand corner to bring up a new menu. Then touch "Advanced" the next menu shows "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" and below that says "never" or "always". Make sure it says NEVER.
I went to bed last night with a 100% charge, and woke up this morning with 99% charge. Two days ago it went from 100% to 4% over night.
I hope this helps. (It did for me.)

If you disable WiFi on when sleeping keep in mind nothing you have set to sink will update during the night while the tab is asleep. Which is more likely to be draining the battery. Just for those that need to stay up to date.

Today I've got 16h 22m with screen on, and I still have 43% battery left! That's pretty darn good to me. I've even watched a two hour movie, gamed for about an hour, facebooked, web surfed,etc. Normal use for me. Screen at 40%. I'm impressed.
Im sorry, but when the graph goes up, doesn't that mean it was charging?

I had mine sitting with all the setting at full but no usage, and I had to neglect the device for about a week. We went away and I just took the Ultrabook and my PlayBook. When I came back the battery STILL had some juice I was impressed, my Galaxy Tab Plus would have been deader than dead, but the N7 had about 10% left.

Lucky me seems I haave both the flickeringg issue with the screen and crappy battery life, but only when turned off. Did a test, fully charged Nexus 7, turned device off and in a day and a half when I turned it on battery was at 25%. Anyone else seeing this issue...
