I bought my son a Nexus & for Christmas and I haven't used it much expect to watch some TV shows and movies on it. I did add some pictures to it from my phone using NFC before I gave it to him. This weekend he asked me how I put the pictures on it and I told him. I then told him he has a front facing camera and can use it to take his own pictures (he is 9). So he asked me how does he use it, and I can not find the camera app nowhere on it!! Not in any apps list etc...

So the question is can you use the front facing camera to take pictures? Or is it just for some kind of Google+ hangout type thing? I guess he could have uninstalled the camera app but if that was the case I think I could still find it.

the N7 doesn't come with the stock camera app as the front camera is only really meant to be used for video calling. I believe there are some apps you can download from the play store that will let you take pictures from it.

That being said, while I know he's only 9, the camera quality on the N7 is *really* bad, and not really useful for stills, even self shots.

Thanks guys, that is what I was thinking but just wanted to make sure. Will get him a app, he just wants it (camera) to play around with anyway.

go into play store and search Nexus & camera launcher...there are several apps that work well for fron facing cameras.
