Should I get the 16Gb or 8Gb one? I have a Samsung galaxy player 4.0 and I wouldn't put music on my nexus so, it would be for apps and the free transformers movie and web. Would it be able to hold 10 apps such as Facebook, twitter, minecraft PE, and others

Thanks :)

I own an 8gb model and It is more than enough space for what I use it for. Which is games and internet browsing. I also have other tablets and computers for the many other tasks I do with computers and the net. I don't think 8gb would be enough if this was the only tablet I had. I also use my Galaxy Nexus' 32gb as a wifi SDcard.

As long as they are not all like NOVA 3 and its 1.7gb content download. 4gb can hold 50+ apps if they are small to medium.

Biggest would be game dev story(5.4 m) or minecraft PE, and other text-based and web-based apps

+1 for game dev story. Love that game. Just wish they would already bring out the supposed sequel for it.

Get the 16 GB model, you won't regret it. It seems Google underestimated how many of the 16 GB models they would sell. I suspect a 32 GB model may be in the works.

It sounds like for what he does now, the 8GB should be plenty if it's just installing a dozen or so apps and one movie.

However what sucks is buying the model that you think will get you by with what you are doing now, then later deciding you want to do more things with it and not having the space to do it.

16GB seems like the way to go, because you might end up loving the thing to death and wanting to load all kinds of things on it. And at $250, the 16GB is still a heck of a good deal.

For $50 more, the 16GB is a good deal. But if you want to keep with the $199 price, and you're not planning to stock pile your media or apps, the 8GB should be just fine. Using a Cloud system or setting one up frees up a ton of space too.

If spending $50.00 more for the 16GB is going to break you, they you may consider if you really need to spend $199.00 on the 8GB. Its only $50.00 more.

What problem would you rather have:

1. I don't have enought room to store what I need?
Or
2. I have all this space, and I don't know what to do with it?

The choice is yours....

I'm absolutely certain I'll only need the 8GB model, ever. I cannot anticipate many uses of it when I won't be in WiFi range of something, and it seems like a waste of $50 to buy the 16GB.

So I bought a 16GB, because I hold on to my gear for a long time and I'm sure there will be lots of use cases I am not anticipating right now that I will deeply regret saving $50 and not having the extra 8GB.

I suspect a 32 GB model may be in the works.

Google wants us to use these connected so we all get nice and addicted to Drive, Google Play Music/Movies, etc. Coming out with a 32GB model would probably mean that Google has a whole lot less reason to subsidize the units.

I suspect what they'll do to the Nexus 7.1 is to add an SD slot, throw a good camera out back, and add $100-150 to the price. Either that or they will keep the Nexus 7 devices as pure "Google Play" devices.

Remember, Google ain't making jack on these. They want them in your hot little hands so you can be a good Googlesphere drone. Adding too much memory to them means you'll have less reason to check in with the mother GoogleShip constantly.
