Nexus 7 - DaC / Sound quality.

If someone does manage to snag one today, would you be able to post sound quality / audio chip that the N7 uses ?

Won't be getting mine until Monday & really curious.

Well, can anybody comment on the DAC quality this time around? Any improvements? Is it still noisy while the tablet is being charged?

I have to say that I'm disappointed that not a single review mentions the DAC whatsoever. Any mention of audio only talks about the speakers, which frankly I will never use unless I'm playing a video for someone else.

I find the sound out of the headphone jack to be disappointing - I use b&w p5s which I love on my iPhone 5

Well, this is a speaker issue but -- Someone started a thread over at xda where low volume settings have a noticeable buzz/static. I replied with having the same issue. Someone else replied saying its like that on all devices due to cheap hardware. It's annoying enough for me to return (after getting a replacement with the same issue and the display model at best buy having the same issue). I have no sound issues while charging on headphone or speaker.

I used my Klipsche X10i headphones and listened to some Google Music while browsing the web and social media apps. I didn't notice any of the static noise like I did on my OG N7.

Played some google play music at low volume w/o hearing any noise.
I'm using Super Fi.5's if that matters...they're fairly sensitive IEMs and much better balanced w/ a replacement cable.

I had no issues w/ the old N7 either though and people didn't like that either

This is the one reason I want to upgrade my original N7 to the new edition. The volume is very low on the original and Im hoping its much better on the new version. Unfortunately my new N7 is at home, delivered on Monday and Im out of town until Wednesday night.

Qualcomms standard DAC is much better than the tegra 3's so it should be a huge improvement.

The new nexus 7,is so so much louder than the original..you need not worry.
