Hey guys. Hope I'm posting in the right section.

On to the problem, I had this Nexus 7 32GB 3G model for about 10 days. Everything was working perfectly, fast, fluid, no screen lift. So I was pretty disappointed when the screen got a green flicker line right in the middle. I hoped it was some temporary defect, so I tried a reboot but that seemed to aggravate the problem. Left side of the screen had these weird green colour distortions. After some light googling, I thought maybe it was the prism/smart dimmer thing that seemed to be causing problems for quite a lot of people. So I rooted the device but it started looking more and more like a hardware problem since the left side was kind of hotter than the other side. Anyways, since I was busy with my exams, I kinda left the device alone for 2 days and lo and behold, the flickering was gone. I was pretty ecstatic but the device worked perfectly for about a day before the flickering started happening again.

The device was on 4.2.2 Stock but I rooted it. No kernels or custom roms.

If it reoccurs I would take it back. Where you perhaps gaming for an extended amount of time? Gaming can really heat up a tablet and since tablets do not cool to well cause strange screen issues.

Yeah, the problem just solved itself again (faster than before since the flickering disappeared after about 2 hours while in the previous case it lasted for about two days). Definitely seems like a hardware issue since I was playing Ski Surfer for about 20 minutes when the problem reoccurred (although, I was just browsing the web the first time).

I just wanted to be sure since there seems to be a clear line dividing the good part of the screen and the bad part. Only the left half has the problem. I was hoping it would be some weird software issue since it would be pretty hard for me to return it (got it as a gift from my dad who bought it in another country). Ah well.
