Nexus 7 heats up after short use

Hi folks,

I received my Nexus earlier today afternoon. I've noticed that the back of the unit heats up quite a bit (more then I feel like it should), after maybe less then an hour of use. My unit heats up only towards the bottom back left side, and slightly into the right. The front of the screen was also starting to pick up some heat (front left side)..which has me a little concerned.

I haven't ran any power-hungry programs yet (movies, games, etc), just mainly installing apps and rearranging the home screen. Also some minor web browsing to get an idea of chrome.

Does anyone else have this issue? It's not hot enough to burn you, but definitely hotter then I'd would expect. I'm using it in a cool room so it's not my environment.

On a side note - I also had the raised screen issue upon receiving my device. I pushed it in and it seems to be fine now.

I have been playing games and browsing for a few hours but haven't had any heat from the device. I am using a task killer though so I'm constantly ending background apps.

Man, these thin tablets don't have heat sinks, and they can warm up with architecture being utilized in force. I would worry to much about it. If you can't touch it, then yes, but a warm chip from constant use is totally normal. I would like to infrared that spot out of pure curiosity.

Mine has been on and in use non-stop for about 6 hrs now, no heat concern here.

Should I not contact Google as a result of this? I just don't want the heat to become a problem in the long run (potential overheating). It concerns me a little more when I can feel the screen getting hot too (in front of the left back-side). I understand that electronics may pick up some heat after use, but mine is picking it up after maybe 20-30 minutes of light use. Again, its not hot enough to cause burns - but I feel like it's reaching a temperature where it shouldn't really be acceptable.

I will give it a few more days to see how heavier apps run, and if it gets any hotter. I'd hate to send it back.

I was wondering if you ended up returning the unit? I am having the same issue.
