Now since I have got my first tab Nexus 7 (2013) and one of the happy customer. I am looking forward to add one more tab to my list of devices ? questions comes to my mind is, should I now be looking at 10 inch device? The only area I felt 7 inch not doing great work is ? say if I am taking remote session to my VM environment and logging to Desktop / Servers. Viewing movies on 10 inch could get better, but I don?t have any complains with 7 inch for movies. I can read news, eBook etc? without any issues on 7 inch device. I don?t see many meaningful advantages of going 10 inch resulting in to loosing flexibility of small device, I haven?t come up with good answer so far - any thoughts / inputs?

Glad you're enjoying your N7! Personally, I like a 10" screen for viewing media and playing games. Paired with a keyboard, it also feels a little more like a laptop substitute. 10" tablets just aren't quite as easily portable as the N7. No one probably needs a 10" tablet, but it's always nice to have. The current Nexus 10 by Samsung is an excellent device, and you can get some decent deals for it these days (because the new Nexus 10--possibly from ASUS--is coming soon). Also consider the Asus Transfomer line--since their new Transformers are also coming soon, you can get great deals on the older TF300 or TF700.

But remember that any new Nexus 10 will be fairly expensive. The original Nexus 10 was $400, so expect the new one to be at least that much. As I mentioned, the original Nexus 10 will probably drop in price, so it's still something to consider, unless you need the latest and greatest!

If your technological needs are that you need a 7" tab and something else, the something else should have additional functionality, and not just a larger screen. I see no reason to own 2 tablets merely for the size differences.

If you are compelled to buy something else with a larger screen, get an ultrabook... they aren't much more cumbersome than a 10" tablet. Or, if you find that you need Android in 10" then give your 7" to your child, or sell it... The money for a second tablet is much better spent to go out and do something fun with someone you love. :)

The plan is to give 7 inch to my kid and get myself another one. I really enjoy using my nexus 7 (2nd gen) device but I don?t wish to go with one more device of same model. Now question comes ? which one and what size?

Do I have any issues with 7 inch ? No major issues, except I think 1) Working on remote sessions of VM will be easy on bigger screen 2) While I use email in 7 inch device, the on screen keyboard takes more than half the screen (in landscape mode), so I think this is another area where bigger screen will be useful. 3) Movies and videos will have better experience

Flip side of going with bigger screen ? losing portability, today I can hold 7 inch device comfortably for quite some time. But this may not be the case for 10 inch device.

I will be watching price of Nexus 10 over the period of next few days (currently I see this as 349$ on Amazon), will weigh this and will be watching closely the news on new version launch.

I think my 7 cuts the job for most things I use it for. If I have anything I need a full 10" screen for I will pull out my small netbook. However that does not seem to happen often as my 7 is more powerful it seems than my wimpy netbook.

I used to have a 10 but it was just too big for me to carry and use on public transit to and from school. But if you have the extra cash floating around and want that larger screen size, go for it. It is a good device for sure.
