Howdy!

Out of Print, this brilliant website that repurposes cover designs from classic novels and makes them into t-shirts, journals, coasters, etc. Well, they've started a kickstarter to make a series of tablet cases that make the devices look like hardcover books. They initially offered cases for the iPad and Kindle Fire, but so many users suggested that they make one for the Nexus 7 that they've now included that.

$40 gets you a case from their initial designs, shipping's included. I'm a writer and an occasional snob so this will allow me to show off my love of novels while still living in a post-paper world.

Check out the link for a video, the first-run designs, and to contribute: Out of Print eBook Jackets for iPad, Kindle Fire and Nexus 7 by Out of Print — Kickstarter

That's awesome. Thank you fellow Chicagoan.... the downside is that estimated delivery is set until October 2012 :( I'm waiting to see what the Portenzo cases for the N7 will look like.

I wonder if you can customize - I want mine to read "A Clockwork Mod" :D

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus

Very, very cool, unfortunately none of the covers they are currently listing quite fit my fancy, so I won't be getting one, but the concept is excellent.

i was totally ready to buy but then i realized they would not be ready until oct. kind of a bummer

edit.. i caved and bought one

It is big, and probably heavier than I want. Plus I have no idea if it has the holes in the right places. On top of that, an additional $15 for shipping, and it won't be shipping until October????

Crazy.

Ordered one anyway though, I love it :D

Just wondering which cover you guys might order when they're ready.

I already have the A Clockwork Orange shirt so I think I'll have to get the Gatsby one. I wish I had read Lolita, though, because that cover looks terrific.

I am surprised there is no Charles Dickens in there.

Agreed. You'd think titles to inspire some of these covers could be Hunted Down on a Sunday at any random Old Curiosity Shop. A good cover - a book one might want to Read at Dusk. But I guess we've come upon Hard Times, and shouldn't keep such Great Expectations.

I like the CWO, atlas shrugged, on the road and moby dick ones.. would be happy with any of them.
