Hi,

I'm on At&t with unlimited data and I'm not rooted. What is the best solution to tether my Nexus 7 so I have a connection when I'm not around wifi? is there a way to do this for free or will there be a monthly charge?

Sorry if this is a redundant post, I'm just not finding an answer that is making this work.

With my RAZR Maxx I can use FoxFi ..to tether for free. Note I am not rooted and on Verizon...Fox fi is in Google Play App store. Don't know if that helps or not

What phone do you have with AT&T? How you can connect depends on the phone.

Foxfi on your cell ftw

i did that with my samsung Galaxy M phone here in Korea. It's pretty simple to do without rooting.
(well i used my phone's 3G network to create a wifi hotspot and connected to that with my nexus 7 if that's what ur talkin about...)

I'm on at&t and have a Samsung infuse but will get an SIII soon. I think at&t has hidden that app from the google store. Also, wouldn't they be able to tell that I was tethered?

I just used FoxFi app on my Verizon RAZR MAXX. I have a grandfathered unlimited plan...it worked flawlessly on car trip and in hotel to drive Nexus 7. YouTube crazed family never missed a beat.

For at&t and sprint users download foxfi from there website FoxFi Installer
as far as whether they can see you tether not not foxfi has a plugin to set a proxies server which would be harder for them to catch but if you don't want to risk it your only other option is to pay for tethering from at&t
