Hi All,

I have a Nexus 7 (2013) for many years i've played video files using MX Player or USB Media Explorer without a problem .avi .mp4 .mpe4 .mkv .wma. etc.

For some reason MX Player no logner sees the (OTG connected) Flash drive at all.
For some reason USB Media Explorer says it cant find the files needed to play.
I have deleted both and re-installed, no change.

Thinking it was an Android version problem I upgraded to 6.0.1. But they still wont play.

Any thoughts?

USB Media Explorer (an Android App from the play store) used to play files in itself OR might ask do you want to open this file in another application, usually MX player. But both would work.

NOW,
USB explorer sees the OTG AND sees the files, but says it doesnt have the solftware to play (????)
MX Player doesnt see the OTG, therefore, files at all.......

You can put Android 7 Nougat on it like I did with mine if you are able. There's a system image with instructions how to do it online. Other than that, wipe and reinstall the is.
