Does it bother anyone else that the Nexus is NEVER on all, or even one specific carrier? It seems if you want to have the option to upgrade into a Nexus, you must be on a GSM network and pay international prices. Or am I missing something? First it was Tmobile (or ATT with their slower internet if I remember right), then Nexus S sprint only, and now a Verizon exclusive which is being released LAST to the world. I love the idea of up to date hardware with PURE android and fast updates, but how do you choose the carrier? Am I the only one nervous about "upgrading" to a Nexus on a 2 year plan, knowing that in a year, or even two, I wont even have the option to pick up a nexus on verizon? Especially with the release fiasco.. Say what you will about no release dates, can't delay something that wasn't set in stone etc. but does anyone really think Verizon will have the opportunity to get Google's flagship again with the way Verizon pimped the bloated Motorola and HTC offerings over the Nexus and let the rest of the world release first? I'm sure Google is having second thoughts about that US exclusivity deal. Why can't Google just offer the Nexus on every US carrier at the same time, or are certain carriers declining Google's Flagship? I like Verizon, but I am not married to them. I had ATT, Cingular, Nextel, Sprint, and now Verizon. I still have a second Sprint line for work. Verizon DOES have better service, but their phone offerings, hiccups, and price gouging gets old. I would gladly switch carriers for a guaranteed Nexus year after year (without having to import an international model) but it doesn't seem possible.
Can anyone shed some light? Or is that what Google attempted with the internet only sales (their release timeline, no one else) and it was a flop?
