Nexus getting hot?

What do people expect from a small handheld computer?

If a laptop gets noticeably hot even with it's cover.. of course cell phones will when they have paper thin protection and constant activity underneath.

Just got to hang in there and let them solve the problem with google and Samsung. Could be a long winter before anymore get sold. Phone getting hot could start a fire in your pocket. That could hurt a lot.

I'm doubting it's that severe...

The Rezound and the Tunnderbolt get pretty warm while playing games and watching Netflix.

Heck I even had the Thunderbolt one time while charger and watching Netflix the notification light started blinking red and then the battery widget went all red. Clicked on the widget and the temp reading stated "OVERHEAT"

Fire?! Bear Grylls would have trouble starting a fire with a 3.7v 1800 mah battery!

Does anyone else think the nexus is too hot (over heating)

Its not horrible but definitely warm towards upper left screen, all of the back. Worse than any previous phone... any chance this goes away a little? Also is anyone else anoyed with the insane ammount of fingerprints lol... both of theese issues are getting on my nerves. Otherwise I like it.

Re: Does anyone else think the nexus is too hot (over heating)

Mine is very hot as well! I think it might be cause I am downloading lots of apps- contacts- emails...etc- Hopefully it goes a way once everything is set up

Re: Does anyone else think the nexus is too hot (over heating)

Mine is pretty warm as well.

Re: Does anyone else think the nexus is too hot (over heating)

I hope this is just typical, not faulty units.

Re: Does anyone else think the nexus is too hot (over heating)

Yeah, mine was warm this morning when it was doing a whole lot. It's cool now.

Fingerprints...welcome to the world of touchscreen phones lol

My Nexus S 4G is hot too, especially with the Wimax radio on.

I am sure my GN will be hot too.

Re: Does anyone else think the nexus is too hot (over heating)

its gonna be warm quite a bit for the first few days because youre going to be using it pretty heavily :). once you get on a regular usage cycle, i would expect it to only get warm for the usual reasons (heavy data usage; heavy gps)

Re: Does anyone else think the nexus is too hot (over heating)

this morning when it was downloading all of my saved apps, which was incredibly fast btw (i'm coming from a droid x... wow what a difference)... i noticed it getting pretty hot. everything's been normal since then.

It is getting a little warm, but that's normal considering I haven't put it down since 9:30 EST!:)

On the fingerprints front, I find it collects way less than my OG did.

Phone gets very hot

Quick question, I always charge when I'm in the truck. With my new Nexus, the phone got so hot that I could not hold it on my ear! I went to the Verizon store to complain and found that the demo unit was very hot, also. The demo unit was significantly hotter than any other phone. Would you please check your's when charging does it get to hot to hold to your ear? Otherwise, a awesome phone.

Thanks

Re: Phone gets very hot

Mine was hot when I was downloading my apps... cooled down afterwards and hasn't really gotten hot since.

Re: Phone gets very hot

I've had an Evo, Epic, and Nexus; all using the same car charger. They seem to behave differently. I guess I wonder which car charger you are using? But otherwise, this is normal, especially in the car/truck where it may be more-so in the sun a little and in constant use.

Re: Phone gets very hot

yeah, mine was a bit warm this morning after playing with it. The top part of the phone is the part that is warm. I haven't charge it yet because I'm attempting to discharge the battery and fully recharge it. I will definitely use a bluetooth when talking on the phone for a long duration ...

will report back.

Re: Phone gets very hot

Got mine on wall charger right now and all is good. Also downloaded a few apps and it got a little warm but nothing close to hot.
