Nexus One coming to Verizon this Spring!!!

This also means Sprint gets the phone too - since both are CDMA. You just wouldn't have a deal with sprint, it'd be an unlocked CDMA phone.

Scratch that.

Q. Will unlocked CDMA handsets be available?

A. That?s complicated. The Nexus One will be available with Verizon service, [but not unlocked]; the Vodafone version will be the regular GSM model.

Thanks for merging the threads mods :D

No more back and forth.

Anyways, I need to find the bit where they talk about apps2sdcard. That's our only holdup right now. Droid's 256mb and N1's 512mb is paltry and UNACCEPTABLE. We need that fix like PRONTO.

Happy with Droid. Why would I feel upset? New stuff coming out all the time. Easy there buddy..

Great I just bought the Droid SPECIFICALLY because the N1 was supposed to only go to TMo.

Now I get to fork out a crap-ton more money in the long run for this thing.

Awesome.

What difference does the phone make? You're going to be on Verizon for 2 years either way and the plans will be the same thing so the same price. If you bought it within the last 30 days just bring it back and wait for the N1.

Cant wait to ditch my storm and get the N1. Was going to get a droid but can wait a few more months.

all the most exciting things about the N1 seem to be 2.1 moreso than the phone itself. Id definitely be willing to consider it over the droid if it was out by the end of this month...but I cant deal with the storm until spring... unless something sneeks out in the next few weeks Ill be passing on the nexus for the droid.

I'm stuck. I have an Eris and was planning on exchanging it within my 30 day window for the Droid. Now this announcement. Waiting would require me to go back to my storm for an unknown period of time. Also, there are limitations, at least with respect to t-mobile- with regards to the type of plan that qualifies. I'm on a family plan (vzw obviously), would I still be eligible?

Honestly, get a Droid anyways :) The reviews are starting to come in saying the Droid is slightly better anyway. I love Swype but a hardware keyboard is still worth quite a bit. Nexus One is a great phone, but its no Droid. I will gladly stick to my Droid. I'll be getting 2.1 sooner than you folks waiting on N1 ;)

I can honestly say i'll never ever use the physical keyboard. I just love the form factor of the HTC devices. I read the engadget review and it was certainly convincing but the size and internals are also very inticing.

Only thing better about nexus one is snapdragon and form factor imho. I wouldnt trade my droid even if it came out in my 30 day window.

Well looks like Verizon still gets the goods after all. I'm kinda disappointed that Tmobile didn't get exclusivity but then again they would have cost Google a lot of money because not too many people sound content with leaving Verizon for Tmobile. Maybe this means we'll see a GSM version of the Droid

Snapdragon being an advantage is somewhat of a myth. The Droid's omap 3430 holds its own quite well. The cpu core is nearly as powerful, and the pvr core is still more robust than Snapdragon's.

It does do faster 3D according to benchmarks though.

Well...twice the ram too. I'm actually more envious of that than the processor. I just see it as more of an alternative to droid, not a replacement.
