Nexus One First Impression

Jobs has never made a bold statement like "A+ upgrade" before. Apple always comes through when they say they will. They are the only company that comes out on time, every time. iPhone came out on the dates they said they would roll it out, no delays. I can almost guarantee the device he has is going to be crazy! I'm not saying there will be a front facing cam, but he wouldn't have made that statement if they were just upping the cam and putting my ram in.

A+ upgrade is equal to a C- upgrade in our books. Jobs thought that C&P was a huge innovation when it made its way on the iPhone. I don't believe the hype. Jobs has let me down way too much to give in on this "A+" upgrade.

well see what Jobs has in store for the next OS upgrade/phone....with the Android OS gaining ground each and everyday day that old OS wont cut it anymore...i just have a feeling that Jobs will have some tricks up his sleeves!

Our opinions differ on that... copy and paste was big. Name one touchscreen that does it well, or even comes close to the iPhone. I've tried all and even now my Nexus gets me pissed off. I can't even c&p from the gmail app. Being that all these phones that are being released after the iPhone still can't do it right or as good, I believe it was an innovation. I'm not even going to get into the Undo feature that I've used a crap load. I think the other phones need the undo more than the iPhone does.

The device is killing PSP as a portable game console.

So I think it's more than anyone else is doing IMO. There might be phones that come out with better procs & hardware, but Apple has software+hardware locked. I think Palm comes next as they build their own devices and supply the software. This always works well.

I love my Nexus and think it's an awesome device, but this isn't the 4th android device to come out, nor is it even the 4th HTC device on Android to come out, so I expect Apple to always be behind in respects to hardware, releasing one phone per year. And even then, they aren't that far back.

I never said the Nexus One was better than the iPhone because its clearly not. I love Apple way more than Google, and I will be getting the new iPhone this summer.

Yes, C&P was implemented very well in the iPhone OS, BUT no company should be introducing C&P and demonstrating it like its never been seen before on any device...like Steve did when the 3GS came out.

I'm just tired of Apple giving us these mediocre updates.

The next version of the iPhone will have the game "Snake" preloaded. It's gonna be awesome! :)

I agree with nfl46 and the iPhone updates. I love Apple and would love to have an iPhone on a good network. But the iPhone OS remains largely unchanged since iPhone 1.0. Features have been added, copy and paste and video capture are a few. But the GUI and UI hasn't change much if any.

Idk Jobs can't keep running the same old layout because if they do iPhone days are numbered. ...iPhone OS got boring!

They change it just enough each year to keep the fanboys buying but never anything substantial. We may get half of the things that are rumored...

Steve Jobs is all about epperance and marketing. Who else can add a basic feature that would be in the 1.0 release of any other phone and call it revolutionary?

He'll give the aging OS a small paint job and increase the screen size a bit (necessitating new cases and screen protectors) and maybe add a feature or two but nothing revolutionary. He hasn't yet and he wont now. He needs to keep everyone on the hook to buy the new one next year and the year after that and the year after that.....

That's why I jumped ship to an Android set. Consistent updates with new features every time. The iPhone 4G will be a fancy new case (probably aluminum), a bigger screen, and faster processor, but the OS is still a big mystery. I can't imagine Apple will allow too much customization, which is why I left.

Yeah I know you weren't saying that... I just think the updates are a lot better than the updates everyone else gets. Apple does it the right way, everyone else, they try to do it right away.

i agree with Duvi on this! Apple does it right....the Droid guys went tru hell just to get the 2.1 update...its ridiculous!

Well, the OS 3.0 updates were HORRIBLE. OS 3.0 was good, but all the updates after that were a waste of time. Apple, would have done better just leaving everyone with a 3GS at 3.0.

So, if they follow what they've done with 3.0, we can only expect a good OS 4.0 update, and the rest (4.x.x, 4.x) will be BS as were OS 3.0's.
