Nexus One OTA today -- not Gingerbread, but here's the file link

Since I am OFFICIALLY designated by Google to be the LAST person on earth to get an OTA, and mine ARRIVED JUST NOW, it means that the Gingerbread push can start any time now.

Like decyphersmc, my ota consisted of two reboots.

AT&T model.

BTW, I did a *#*#checkin#*#* which reported a download available. It didn't tell me about it till I did that.

Funny you mention that because I just got mine automatically too...lol. Bring on the cookies!!

Nope. I am later than all of you. Just got my OTA (ATT). Also two parts with two reboots.

Still running, so I have nothing to say about what it is doing to my phone.

No I'm the last, I still haven't gotten the update yet and I've been running checkins for the past two days. Maybe its because I manually downloaded the last update?

I had been doing checkins also to no avail. But, it was when I went to the Market that the popup window appeared stating that there was a system update available. So, I suggest to also keep using the Market app.

Received but nothing happens

I just received mine. Click on "Install Now" and nothing happens. Checked the version, its still FRG83.

Check system update and done with checkin and there are no further updates.

Anyone getting the same scenario as mine?

Me too. I clicked update just now. Phone rebooted. And nothing happened. The dialog box said it would be two parts. But my version didn't change. I click check for updates in settings and it says my phone is up to date. What gives?

So just got the update this evening and I am just wondering if anything really changed or if it is more a bug fix update?

Not true. I've been manually updating since I got my phone up until this update. I figured it wasn't a huge update so I said screw it and decided to wait for it to update on it's own. Well I finally got a system notification about the update sometime last night.

So no, manually updating does not interfere with future automatic updates. On a side note, it was amusing to see how fast it actually took from the official release on 11/18 to when I received it today on 11/23. I guess when you're not freaking out and checking you're phone religiously every 5 minutes the updates are actually pretty quick. Hope this helps.

OTA for Nexus One

Yeah, I had manually updated mine to Froyo so I was a bit worried I was not going to get OTA updates any more. So when this one came, yay.

Not seeing any differences in how anything works so I guess this is more about patches.

Oh well: "My name is Scott and I'm an update addict."

I'm also really eager to get a Nexus Two but only if it has a 4.3" to 4.5" screen. Yup, I've decided where my sweet spot is :) If the Nexus One has anything smaller, screenwise, I'll probably wait until the next better phone comes along.

I did a manual update through the recovery function in the bootloader by following the "[How-to] Prep Nexus One for Gingerbread" thread and I've noticed a small increase in overall phone speed. Might be just me though.....

Anyone having excessive battery drain after the update? my battery is completely drained after 4-6 hours while on EDGE only
