Nexus One vs. the Nexus S - Kind of disappointed

I think It's just a concept device. Soon to be used by developers.
The internal storage and ff camera should be a must have in all future devices. Why no removable storage? Maybe they just forgot about it ;-)

i starting to wonder due to the non-impressiveness of this nexus s, if maybe the nexus s is just a serious of side nexus,s like the samsung thing. and maybe the real nexus two just isnt comin yet. idk. just a trhought, maybe theres nexus s and then a follow up nexus two, sigh.

hm good point it is a nexus "s"

maybe its just a filler phone until the nexus "2"

i was looking forward to this phone, it was looking to be the phone that would replace my Nexus One......however, no HSPA+ and no Dual-core is a deal breaker!! plus i want to keep my photos and no SD card slot would suck! I REALLY hope the Dual Core version is true and comes out when the other dual core phones come out, but for now, im keeping my Nexus One....i just dont think selling the Nexus One and then paying an extra 200 bucks or so for just a front facing camera and a worse GPS radio is worth it!

Just because it said "None" under the expandable memory doesn't mean it doesn't come with a slot for it. It just means they aren't bundling a microSD in with the phone.

16gigs of apps, music, photos, video is more than enough. I don't use that much on my Vibrant. They probably don't wanna give away SD cards when the internal storage is fine.
I was wondering when someone was gonna interrupt the ***** session and mention that. To those that are clamoring for dual core: What exactly are you missing out on? Were you hoping on running a mobile Adobe Suite on your phone or something?

If you look at the comparison, many of the desirable features are actually 2.3 features. I see no reason to drop another $500+ when my Evo is going to do everything this phone does a couple of milliseconds slower.

The more I read, the more I'm starting to believe that Gingerbread is the culprit for not getting better specs. Of course, what I'm reading are opinions and no other facts from any sources. But still, it appears that Google wanted the Gingerbread experience to be a good one and perhaps it needed to keep some of the specs for screen resolution and single core cpu. Honeycomb is designed for tablets, which makes me think it's better designed for higher resolutions and possibly dual core cpu's.

I don't think so man. If you look at the comparison page (Google Phone Gallery) and compare it to any other phone (let's say Nexus One for argument's sake), the N1 just says "microSD" under removable storage. Then in parenthesis it notes that a 4gb card is bundled.

Sidenote: Apparently this phone also has no notification light/led... :-/

It's a little disappointing that this isn't a bigger feature bump. I understand that there is no dual-core since 3.0 is where the support for it is supposed to start.

I hope that there is expandable storage, although not a deal breaker for me. I've never removed my 16GB MicroSD from my N1 anyway.

I like the larger screen, the addition of a few small tech bumps. It is a performance upgrade, though not a big one. It may not be enough to drive current Android users to it, but it may be enough to sway some BB and iPhone users to Android.

I agree with ur last line there. I'm one of those BB hoping over to Android soon. I'm just waiting for AT&T version

Hey everyone, at least it's better than my Intercept and my old Cliq!

At least I'm on 2.1 now...

Also, the Incredible didn't come with a microsd, but had the slot, and the site states this (stealing someone elses link):

Nexus S / Incredible Comparison

It looks to me like it has an LED just from the pictures. Same light and proximity sensors as my Incredible and the LED to the right (unless that's the front-facing camera...)

Its just like any other sammy phone, minus TW.

Nice display and hummingbird

Horrible build quality, and plastic-ish.

Thats how i feel at least

If you really want to switch to Android, do yourself a favor and either leave AT&T or start looking for a mint Nexus One with AT&T bands. That's the best you'll do on that carrier.
