Nexus owners: How's the Android 5.1 update treating you?

Sideloaded my unit yesterday no problems so far. Purchased from Motorola and running on VZW. I never experienced some of the negative issues that I've seen posted on a few forums (weak battery, back cover coming off, random reboots, lag, etc). With the update to 5.1, it runs incredibly smooth and quick. I'll see how it runs over the next two weeks before issuing a final judgment, but so far ... Its good.

Hi everyone, has somebody noticed problems using pin sim at startup? Mine doesn't ask for the pin till I lock the screen and data services are all disabled. With 5.0.1 the phone asked me the sim pin and then the phone pin, now after the first pin for encryption it doesn't ask nothing on boot and shows directly my home. Only after locking it asks for pins.
It seems smoother then with 5.0.1 except when I swipe to close background apps: It has a little hesitation when the last part of the window reaches the edge of the display.
Has anyone noticed the same?
Thanx

I would say that battery life has improved. With no Wi-Fi being used. LTE all day.

Has anyone else had the Voicemail problem?
EVERY time I go into my voicemail and try to input my code, it never registers. I have to keep hanging up and calling back before it actually reads the whole code.

So far it does seem snappier. Also seems to be getting stronger network signal (at least LTE seems to be better) I'll check the battery in the next few days to confirm

After the OTA update to LMY47M T-Mobile, my phone was getting hot even with simple task, but after a factory reset, problem solved, now is running smooth

Did a full reset after applying the update and I have to agree with how fast the phone is responding. Signal strength seems better, but that could be placebo. The battery life is the most improved. This is all on the T-Mobile 5.1.

This has nothing to do with Android 5.1 or Nexus 6, if you are having voice-mail issues you need to contact your carrier.

Finally got my update today. Haven't seen much difference with it yet. But glad I finally got it

Loving the update so far. Seems faster somehow. I like the new security feature that if someone gets my phone they can't just wipe it and use it. That's perfect.

Battery life seems better.
Here's a screenshot after 12 hrs

Before the update I had about 4.5 hrs SoT consistently. My best time so far was on airplane mode, and this screenshot was taken with 12 hours on LTE (6 on LTE and 6 on work but signal still active), about 40 minutes of gaming, music playing, downloading some apps.
So, it does seemed improved. Also, I can't confirm it yet but I feel the signal strength is also better

This has nothing to do with Android 5.1 or Nexus 6, if you are having voice-mail issues you need to contact your carrier.

This only started after I updated to 5.1.
Other devices on the network work fine.

Still the same issues with the native messenger.....tried sending a text now and it is stuck on "sending".....that could be an AT&T issue ho?

Rebooting the phone seems to have fixed it...I seem to have to reboot the phone a lot since 5.1 update

Had the update a week... Only major difference is the addition of band 12 on T-Mobile.. Getting LTE band 12 in the few spots I was falling back to HSPA or 3G around DFW.... It's not super fast compared to band 4 around here but it's head and shoulders better than HSPA or 3G in those spots... Phone at least seems snappier..... Still wish they would have added a full silent mode but the small additions to the priority mode are better... Battery life seems slightly worse but not dramatically worse.... hard to say because it always seems after an update battery life is a little worse the first few weeks... I use to go from 5:30 am to Lunch going from 100% down to about 75 and now I am usually just below 70 now.. I always top charge after lunch and typically go from around noon to bedtime (10 pm) 100% down to about 35 - 40%.... now it's usually around 28 - 30%.. by far my heaviest usage is after lunch until bedtime... Usually average about 1 hour SOT from wake to lunch... from lunch until bedtime about 3 hours SOT plus 60 - 90 minutes streaming music while at the gym or riding my bike to bluetooth headphones...

Overall it's a good update.... See how things even out over a few more weeks...

Just noticed my battery is draining a bit more. Using the 2G network to help but down to 70%, main hog today seems to mobile standby at 5% and 6hr 40mins wake. On the main graph the mobile network signal bar is all yellow again. Ah actually I lie, just noticed that although my settings extended widget was showing 2G it was actually 4G. Will see how it goes now

Hello, did you noticed the bug with manual exposure setting in the camera? If you set it (there is a dongle in the advanced settings) nothing happens! No more icon appears to adjust exposure while taking pics. And it seems that in all other apps (also manual camera, fv5 and similar that use the new APIs) the manual exposure has no effects.
That's really annoying to me! I used the feedback link in the stock app to report it to google maybe if you'll do the same this bug will fix sooner

I'm still having wifi issues. I have two routers set up as wireless bridges (this means the configuration is identical) . I can connect to one but on the other I get the exclamation point. It's fine if I go back to my Moto X.
